Stayed here for a weekend as visiting family for a wedding. Warm welcome, late check in due to travel delays. Feels really homely, spacious and kept tidy inside & out. Lovely breakfast and great staff. Very reasonable price for stay and plenty of parking. Would stay again.

Friendly staff and room basic but was as expected and unlike one review had no problem with parking car. Breakfast good and well placed for town. Would stay here again if we were going to stay at ryde. I always read the poor reviews out of interest and none of them matched our visit.

Ryde on Isle of White is not a place you go to for a great night out but the city is charming and there are good restaurants (Italian Michelangelo is one good example). Dorset House is not in the high class B&B's but it's reasonable value for money and the location with a seaview is stunning

My four sisters and I met up a few weeks ago at The Dorset Hotel in Ryde. One sister from Canada, two from Dublin and myself from London. Our fifth sister lives in Ryde. Our stay at the Dorset was very good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was brilliant, and the staff very helpful. A very good and... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in July and had a great relaxed stay. Room was beautifully decorated and very modern and the bed was one of the most comfy Ive ever slept in! Location is great as is a 2 minute walk from the Hovercraft and bus station so perfect for people needing to use public transport as we did.... More

We booked some time in advance, and chose it as we were arriving on foot from the Hovercraft and wanted to be near the public transport facilities which we used whilst on the island. We found our room to be clean and comfortable, and it was certainly quiet at night. The staff were friendly, and having a licensed bar was... More

We booked to stay here well in advance and looking at the pictures thought we had found a nice little place in Ryde. I bought my wife a thank you treatment at Liz Earle in the town as she had previously sorted out my 50th Birthday celebrations. (sorry I digress) So when we turned up at the Dorset Hotel the... With sadness i read this review, the garden room is located adjacent to the garden hence its name and has it own entrance via the patio doors direct from the car park. The unit was added in 2007 and the photos taken in 2009 not in Jimi Hendrix days. The double mattress is to provide extra softness not to support... More

Stayed here for one night. Had a very warm welcome on arrival. We arrived early and it was no problem to store our bags whilst we went off to explore for the day. Had our room changed to one with a sea view without asking which was very pleasant. The décor is a little dated, but our room was clean... More

On Google, the Dorset Hotel is described as a 'modest bed and breakfast', but we found it to be much more than that. The staff were friendly, the room we had was clean, spacious and had all those little extras that you don't often get in hotels these days, and the breakfast was very good. The location was perfect for... More

Just spent a weekend at this gem of a hotel in Ryde. We went on a special deal from the hotel which included the car and passengers on the Red Funnel ferry. (I understand you can also use either of the Wightlink ferries also). The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfasts excellent. The rooms... More
