Have been here about 6 times in the last 10months and each visit has produced a decreasing level of food standard. Today 30/08/15, was the worst. Sunday roast beef, as tough as boot leather, 'gravy' heavily influenced by what appeared to be tomato soup, even the waitress agreed! Puddings very mediocre, my son had the best option having the ice... More

The ferry back to Portsmouth was disrupted tonight, so had the opportunity to have a beer at the above. Nice and friendly, but the Fuggle was not on top form, sadly, and tasted a bit old😕 This looks a potentially good pub and full credit to the staff (and the bloke who took them back) for producing 14 x portions... We called in here for a spot of lunch before our ferry home. My first impression at the menu was that the food prices are above average- the children's lunches were £6.95 each (ham, egg and chips). My husband and I ordered Steak Pie and vegetables (£10.95). We went up to order and the service from the bar man was... More

I come from Portsmouth and wanted a short stay on the IOW with the kids, taking my car and elderly motherinlaw. I had been to the Fishbourne Inn for a meal before boarding the ferry on a previous occasion and thought I would try this for an over night stay. I booked a double with a roll up bed for... More

I booked a room to stay as I was over for business reasons. I booked this place as the prices were reasonable. I was very impressed when we pulled up as the outside looked lovely. Check in was smooth, the pub looked lovely. We were then shown upstairs and into our rooms. My room was beautifully decorated with a beachy... More

Sympathetically modernised pub with rooms. Lovely modern and comfortable rooms. The food is great and the breakfasts are outstanding. Nice little walk to the beach from the hotel and a nice beer garden. Very quiet at nice after about 10 but not particularly noisy at any other time.

We're disappointed with the service whic we received from the barman. We entered and at the bar asked if we could sit anywhere for a meal. He said anywhere without any reserved signs on the table. Then he promptly went into the main dinng area where there were people eating and put reserved on all the other empty tables whic... More

We found this place quite by chance when we were wanting lunch. We wished we could have had more. The lunch choices were excellent, the food well prepared and presented and the service great. And you can't beat the location - down a quite lane near the ferry that you could watch and hear, but without it being annoying. We... More

After a day trip to the island we wanted a meal before the ferry trip back. It was 5pm. Main menu starts at 6 so we had to have the bar menu. They offer meals for small appetites which is a really good idea. Had the sausage mash and peaks - good. Also the tomato pasta which was probably the... More

The food here is standard pub grub, complete with all the usual unimaginative staples. As usual for a pub which has an overinflated opinion of itself, the portions are small, the prices high, the presentation pointlessly prissy and the flavours bland. The chefs struggle with the basics as well. We had to return a burnt sausage. How is that difficult?... More
