We stayed at various places on the Isle of Wight while we were walking the Coastal Path. The Anchorage in Cowes was probably one of our favourites. The very helpful and friendly owners were very personable. Our bedroom and also the public rooms were modern and spotlessly clean and tidy. I was puzzled by a couple of poor reviews elsewhere... Five out of five. Clean room, comfy bed, hot powerful shower and awesome porridge! Peter, the owner, made me feel welcome and was a laugh to chat with when I was in the guesthouse. Would definitely recommend this place.

Loved every minute of our summer bank holiday getaway abode!! A mere 5 min walk away from the very quirky and lovely Cowes High Street and yet quiet and peaceful. We were greeted very warmly by Peter's wife (I think her name is Linda although a bit foggy - really sorry!) who showed us to our room which was bright... More

We stayed at the Anchorage Guest House on the Friday and Sunday nights and were given a double room at no extra cost until we asked to pay when the owner wanted another £10 which we refused to pay. The cost was £90 for a twin room which was basic to say the least. It seems that this is par... More

Cant rate this little guest house highly enough. Spotesly clean, modern and friendly establishment. Just a short walk into Cowes main town, it is extremely well placed. Breakfast was plentiful and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

We recently spent two comfortable nights at the Anchorage Guest House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Peter, the owner who showed us around. My husband is quite tall, and Peter kindly offered him a choice of two available rooms, so that he could find which bed best suited him! A stone's throw from... More

Six of us stayed one night recently. We all commented on the high quality of the accommodation. The rooms were clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. The toilet / shower facilities were up to date and efficient. Our hosts were wonderfully charming, courteous and hospitable. The breakfast, which was pre-ordered the night before, certainly wasn't the worst we had... More

I stayed at the Anchorage for one night for a friends wedding in Oct 2013 and Peter (the owner and manager) was so helpful and friendly, over and above what would be expected. I would highly recommend staying there. The room was clean and very comfortable. He made sure he was in to welcome me (at both my original and... More

I came to Cowes to do my RYA Offshore Yacht Master text. I was supposed to meet the instructor and boat owner (This was just a primary indication of how not serious nor professional instructor he was and the whole amateur attitude) on my arrival but it was mission impossible to get in touch with him, so I was wondering... When we arrived in Cowes we had hiked miles and miles through wind and rain from Ryde. Nothing ever looked so good as the clean, quite and well-appointed room at Anchorage Guest House when our bedraggled group climbed the last stair to our destination. The location is great--close enough to walk to everything but just far enough to be quiet... More
