We booked this via the Vintage Inn website for a quick break to celebrate my husbands birthday. As said before parking is uphill from the hotel in a public car park. Only a few minutes walk so not too inconvenient. It was very busy when we checked in and we had to explain that we had booked DBB as it... more

From deciding at 1.30pm in London, we were at the hotel, found on the internet, by 6pm for an overnight stay and 1 day on the island. Cowes lovely town with good pubs and restaurants and shops. Hotel staff very friendly, room 11 with great view, extremely comfortable bed, clean white bathroom. Excellent breakfast with wide choice. more

Beware when booking as the hotel said we had a large double room but we only had a box room - about 18 inches either side of the double bed and only one bedside table!! Apparently the smaller double only have a 4ft bed. This hotel is certainly not value for money as far as the accommodation is concerned. Also... more

The staff at Fountin Inn were extrememly pleasant and helpful via email and telephone prior to our arrival, and when we checked in couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We asked for a room with King Size bed and with views of the water which is what we received, however I wouldn't say it was worth the 130GBP we... more

We stayed at the Fountain for two nights, a Friday and Saturday. Its a convenient place, right in the High Street next to the harbour and the ferry terminal to Southampton. Buses pass the door or the car park is a few minutes walk away. You can buy a tourist parking permit for £5 for 24 hours, on sale at... more

Typical "ye olde" English hotel. Stayed for two nights in September and found it to be a pleasant but not exceptional place to stay. We requested water views when we booked, so we got a room on the third floor facing the harbour (which was nice), but neglected to consider the fact that as an old hotel it did not... more

Room 21 is a great little room, lots of stairs and in the eaves, small but perfectly formed. Great white linen, really comfortable bed and pillows, really nice large white towels, up market shower gel etc. Right near the Red Jet but for some reason we did not hear it at all. The staff were great and very willing. The... more

We went to the Fountain Inn for 2 nights on 10th & 11th July. We managed to book the hotel for £50 per room per night on laterooms.com, which is a lot less than the standard room rates on their own site. On arrival, we realised that the nearest car park was approx qtr/half mile away uphill. This wasn't a... more
