We were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful place. Our room was decorated in old English style and had a great view of the water. We even saw our Princess ship go by! As we had no transportation , Margaret drive from the village and back to the hotel whenever we asked. Also. Free transpiration from the Ferry to the... More

We booked last minute and arrived unsure of what we might find. Margaret's welcome was genuine, our room had amazing sea views of the Solent and was well-appointed and comfortable. The real surprise was dinner - we had booked to eat at the hotel as we were tired from the journey and the food was excellent. The beef - a... More

We stayed for one night on Saturday 26th. July 2014. We had the family room as we had 3 adults and a 2year old. The beds were extremely comfortable with beautiful white bed linen. A cot was provided for the baby and we were made to feel very welcome by Margaret, who also collected us from the ferry. Breakfast was... More

On first arrival you know that you have arrived at a very individual place. This is not part of a hotel chain, thank goodness. We were greeted by the lady of the hotel anwedge took us to our room, which was two levels up and had a glorious view over a very active Solent. The room was in reality three... More

I acknowledge that I am not properly qualified to express adequately my experience of this gem, this bijou hotel. I must give a context for this review - I am over seventy; I spent over thirty five years as an officer in the British Army; I am not overly fond of 'modern'. I was with about twenty others. As I... We originally booked a B & B back in December but unfortunately the day before we were due to go over e-mail it transpired that we were not booked in at all so the proprietor booked us into this hotel. It is very clean lovely breakfast and friendly staff. It is dated but that goes with the charm of the... More

We had a very large room - the bed was very comfortable, flat screen tv bathroom modern. The fittings could do with a lick of paint. The breakfast was excellent- with fresh fruit and good cooked breakfast. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is rambling and it is rather like going back in time. But the prices... Wonderful hotel with bags of atmosphere. Stayed here several times as hotel of choice for IOW. Christmas dinner is best ever as they know how to do it properly with massive turkey cooked to perfection. Spacious comfortable rooms. Oh and the owner makes you feel right at home even gave me a lift to the ferry. Highly recommended.
