In connection with a business trip to Cowes, IOW, I had the pleasure of staying at the Villa Rothsay Hotel. I was taken back in time and experienced a fantastic and cozy house of the Victorian period. Excellent, professional and personal service and a solid English breakfast if you wish.

I stayed for two nights at Villa Rothsay, a quirky Victorian hotel with loads of maritime nauticalia. But don't be mistaken, the hotel is clean and very well run, in an unobtrusive manner. I had dinner on both nights of my stay and it was excellent. They also have a good selection of wines and an honesty bar in the... More

Hotel with 14 rooms. Located around 15 mins walk into Cowes centre with its large variety of shops (many local), pubs and restaurants. Sea views from many of the rooms Rooms and corridors full of character so don't expect everything to be brand new ie not 'Hilton type', somewhat sterile, modern fittings & facilities. Very welcoming staff. Parking for 4/5... More

This was a lucky find by a colleague as the hotel we normally use was fully booked. It is a wonderful place to stay. It has the feel of a comfortable Victorian home and is full of interesting things to see. We found it spotlessly clean, which with the amount of dusting they must have to do is very impressive.... Friendly clean yesteryear Hotel within walking distance of centre of Cowes. Friendly helpful family run and something different. Full of Boating prints and memorabilia. Lovely views over the Solent. Quiet location.

Villa Rothsay is a quirky hotel with plenty of sailing memorabilia on show. The room we had (a superior room) had a fine view over the Solent, and was both comfortable and large. I'm not sure if 'hotel' is quite the right description though. Villa Rothsay is more of a guest House (+) than a true hotel I'd say. It... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give a review. We are so glad you enjoyed our establishment. With regard to evening meals, we ask guests at time of booking whether on the first night of their stay they wish to dine since we only use the freshest of local produce and source daily as required and therefore... I visited this brilliant hotel for supper while on a work trip. It is fantastic. The food was amazing, the best beef rib I've eaten in years. The hotel itself is very homely and full of lots of nautical memorabilia. The best bit is Margaret, the front of house. Faultlessly accommodating. She even offered to drive us home at 1am... More

We were warmly welcomed, and our room (29, I think), was spacious and perfect for a family, with a large double & a smaller adjoining twin. The bathroom was gorgeous. The lounge is dark & cosy, full of materials & the whole hotel is covered in pictures of boats & yacht races. I loved the fact there's an honesty bar,... More

This is the most wonderful hotel, full of memorabilia of Cowes at its greatest - signed photos of sailors from the biggest yachting races, and also from the Cowes-Torquay powerboat crews clearly 'in the know' having discovered this privately-run, unassuming, yet eccentric gem. Wonderful views of the beach and fantastic location. Very comfortable and characterful. What a lot of dusting!... More

To begin at the beginning. A warm, friendly welcome from young Tom who carried our bags and saw us safely ensconced into our cosy well furnished room. Tom, then brought us a couple of drinks which we imbed as we sat on our balcony with glorious views over the Solent and Southampton waters. We've eaten a few breakfasts in up... More
