Wow! Spent two truly wonderful nights at this fantastic Mill, set in stunningly beautiful countryside with a canal running through. The lovely couple, Miranda and Richard who run this beautiful Hotel, were extremely friendly, sociable, attentive..... the perfect hosts. Who I noticed treated all their guests with the same attentiveness, making everyone was happy, content..... The bar staff were also... More

Nice setting, good food, but slow/inexperienced service and out of some things, which was apparently due to busyness (beautiful weather). Would suggest better preparation: more knowledgeable/experienced staff and all food/drink items on hand. Would definitely give them another shot!

Dear Brian Many thanks for visiting the Mill and I am sorry to read your feedback. We are very fortunate, as you know to be in such a beautiful location, close to the River Stort and in grade II listed water mill which does attract lots of guests and customers during the week and weekend. This weekend just gone in... More

After a very long walk we came to the Little Hallingbury Mill and am so glad we did! We called ahead and Mairanda was so friendly on the phone and welcoming us when we arrived exhausted and parched. The roast she served us was fantastic, my mum even saying it was it one of best she had. Needless to say... More

I stayed for one night and this is such a lovely place with real old style character. I love the set up of the restaurant and bar and the chilled music. The people running this place deserve credit and I really hope this is successful. The views are great and the food was exceptional. I travelled alone as a stop... More

Our family have just been back for the second time for a weekend stay, again booking 4 rooms. We found a very helpful and friendly atmosphere and staff. And it's quirky, which we all like, with lovley walks on the doorstep. And an excellent breakfast. We've already booked another weekend for the near future. We have fun there!

We stayed for one night and although the room was small the bed was very comfortable, the ensuite was also small but suited the requirements. The old mill and the grounds are stunning. There are 2 parts to the hotel, the old mill and the house next door, we had a room in the house. We had drinks in the... More

We booked this hotel for one night to enable us to stay local to a friends's 50th birthday party. Originally the booking was for 2 rooms with 2 adults in each. Unfortunately after booking one of our party passed away. I called the hotel and explained the situation and visited the hotel and asked that the two rooms could be... More

We were a group of eight and every aspect of our night's stay exceeded expectations. The Mill is as attractive as it looks in the photographs and the location beside the canal lock is superb. We recieved a warm welcome and, after drinks in the garden, had a delicious, jovial meal in the ancient bar and dining room, seated beside... More
