We had a double room and it seemed quite small but we were only staying one night. The room had all amenities including a computer which I have never had in a room. Wifi was easy to get on and use. The towels were absolutely gorgeous big thick and fluffy. There was no road noise however on the night we... More

Thank you for your kind review & for staying with us The memory mattresses we use are the best premium quality and the bed you slept in was our 4 foot 6 inch double, in the 'Aero' room. I am very sorry your husband fell out of bed during the night. Nobody has fallen out of one our beds before.... More

There was a limited choice for breakfast only eggs and beans no bacon, sausages, tomatoes or mushrooms etc. Very little fresh, Bread all frozen, nothing in freezer labelled. Out of date cheeses in fridge and broken biscuits in box some in opened packets although individual packets. No instructions with coffee maker. Not clearly marked which was instant and which was... We are sorry to hear you were not pleased with the breakfast element of your stay. However we do clearly state on our website (www.the-pitstop.net) and all booking websites we use, that it is a 'full Continental style' breakfast only offered and guests are made to feel more relaxed in the Diner with a 'help yourself' approach, at a time... We were looking for an overnight stay near Stansted airport and fortunately found The Pit Stop, thanks to Trip Advisor. We've never stayed in such an unusual B&B and it far exceeded our expectations. Melvyn and his daughter, Mariella, gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our room - I was amazed at every turn by the... More

This is a lovely little place! Found it because was looking for a hotel half way between 2 locations to meet up with friends that hadn't seen for 28 years! The rooms and the help yourself at anytime of day or night kitchen is wonderful! The décor is spot on everywhere. We stayed in the Art Deco, green room which... More

Wonderful accommodation on main road.A mix of 20's and 50's eras in bedrooms and eating area, complete with diners and juke box. Melvyn and Sindy made us very welcome. Breakfast was a dream - what we wanted in lovely surroundings! Will stay again for sure.

You'll never stay anywhere quite like the PitStop. It has been created by Melvyn and Sindy Rutter with great imagination and flair. It's beautifully maintained and very clean. The breakfast is a prepare-your-own in an American diner but a great selection of ingredients is to hand including those for a traditional cooked breakfast. There is of course a strong Morgan... We stayed at the Pitstop for my husbands 60th birthday surprise and had the added bonus of taking Abigail out for the day. Well words cannot describe how lovely Melvyn and Sindy are and what a fantastic place The Pitstop is. The attention to detail is amazing and every little thing has a story behind it which is so interesting... More

Special occasions like 60th birthdays have to be fondly remembered. For us it is a pleasure to put smiles on people's faces on these and any other occasion. Abigail is our Morgan hire car which went out for the day as part of the celebrations. We loved having you stay, come again, why not book out the whole place for... More

Lots of time and care has been invested in making The Pitstop a terrific and unique experience. The rooms are immaculate with many extra inclusions for comfort. The diner is a work of art constructed with incredible attention to detail and provides a range of substantial DIY breakfast options. Melvyn and his colleagues were very welcoming and helpful.
