As a venue for a ball or party this was great, the breakfast was good (although the service chaotic - had to ask for everything separately - asked for tea, got no milk or sugar, asked for toast got no butter!). The Alington suite was a good venue, though the food (buffet) was average. The rooms however - booked a... more

My husband & I stayed here for a wedding in June of this year. I have to say - it was not very nice at all. We booked a 'superior' room and were put right at the top of the hotel near the lift. I was kept awake all night long by the sound of the lift which drove me... more

A colleague and I stayed at the hotel on a business trip and both experienced a pleasant stay although I would be dubious about staying a second time. My room was beautiful, a double with four poster bed and wonderfully furnished. My colleague on the other hand was given a very small, basic room with only a shower stall which... more

According to its website this is a luxury hotel in an "exquisite English Manor house". What a joke. Our room was in a modern wing - in fact most of the hotel is a modern wing tacked onto what was probably once an exquisite manor house, but certainly is no more. The bedroom was tiny - only just big enough... more

I organised my company christmas do in the Alington Suite and the food, accommodation, room etc was all very well organised. I had many thank yous the next day about the hotel and the food, so all in all a very good venue. The breakfast was lovely the next day, but I couldn't eat it due to a hangover! more

We had booked three nights stay, well in advance, on a website, asking for two double rooms, and quiet because we would have elderly relatives with us. When we got there, we were given one twin and one double. One room was over the kitchen and therefore not quiet at all, what with early morning deliveries and cooking noise. that... more

Letchworth Hall is a nice old English hotel right next to a golf course. It is the number one hotel in the area (3*). The rooms and the bathroom were clean. The staff at the reception were competent but not overly friendly. I also thought that their hourly charge for a late check out was a bit cheeky. Breakfast was... more

Dear All, I must confess that when I saw the photos, and the website, I very much thought that I would be staying in a very small but cozy hotel. I was wrong - the hotel was absoloutley MASSIVE. I came here with my family and my word was there a lot to do. Adjoining the hotel is a Cannons... more

The hotel is proclaimed to be 'Letchworth's Premier Venue', however, their corporate Christmas party night was an expensive mistake. At £35 per head, the food was terrible, bad quality, poorly cooked, poorly presented. Whilst you expect mediocre fayre on these nights, you sanction for this lapse thinking that the disco/general atmosphere makes up the shortfall. Unfortunately, the dancefloor was no... more

An interesting experience! We booked late on-line for £90. On arrival we found that our room did not have the four poster that we had booked: we complained and got a reduction. There were three or four functions, including weddings, taking place the night we stayed. At just after 11.00pm (following an accidental fire alarm activation) the music from one... more
