I have stayed at Andrew and Lis Darwin's gorgeous home many times over the last 20 years whilst visiting this wonderful part of the world and would not consider staying anywhere else!! This B&B is and always has been the most delightful family home set in the glorious Herefordshire/Welsh Borders and the welcome is always the warmest making you feel... More

This is a stunning house and a very comfortable stop on the Offa's Dyke. The hosts welcomed us with tea and cake by the wood-burning stove and were very helpful taking us on to Hay . We walked back to collect the car and , again, were offered tea around the kitchen table. From reading other reviews I see the... More

After a very long day of delays and frustrations, our destination being the North Wales coast we realised that our destination would be impossible that day. We therefore stopped in Kington and found this little gem at gone 11:00pm. The proprietor even though having to get out of bed was accommodating for these weary travellers, he prepared a room, made... More

This is a great B&B. The house and gardens are beautiful complimented by a very friendly welcome from Andrew and Liz. The location is ideal, about 3 or 4 minutes walk from the pub and village centre. Andrew dropped us 3 mates and 2 dogs to the start point of our first day of walking in Hay-on-Wye and picked us... More

On arrival was warmly greeted, by name, and offered tea and cake. Later on was offered a glass of wine before we headed out for a drink & meal - great location on Offa's Dyke walk and close to town, lovely gardens. Nice bed, Slept well. breakfast cooked well, tea and toast replenished a required, lovely home made marmalade. On... More

Homemade cake, roaring fire, a roll top bath - what more could you ask for... Every bed and breakfast should be like this. Liz and Andrew are very kind hosts, with all the local knowledge you could need. And, what's more, you don't need a car for your stay - there's a local bus from Hereford train station, and wonderful... More

Walking the ODP from Knighton in persistent rain, I arrived soaked, tired and with dampened spirits, to a lovely welcome from Liz, my wet clothes and boots were whisked away to be dried, tea and home-made fruit cake produced and a really hot bath to wallow in. Their home is as charming and gracious as Andrew and Liz are, and... More

I stayed at Church House while hiking the Offa's Dyke trail. Andrew and Liz made me and my fellow hiker feel right at home. Wonderful, personal service, great accommodations and a huge English breakfast. I want to get back to that area of the world some time and I know where I will stay. Of yea, if you are hiking... liz and andrew are proud not to have frills and doilies rather than threadbare rugs - very homely, comfortable, friendly and efficient, lovely garden if the weather is good. Bathroom not en suite, but good big bath, good breakfast - thoroughly recommended

When you are clearly staying in someone elses beautiful house - and it is beautiful, there is always the danger that you will feel uncomfortable. Not here. The welcome is - well - welcoming. Very individual, yes, but a welcome that makes you immediately feel at ease. The rooms are very excellent and the bathroom sumptuous. Breakfast was a treat... More
