Very welcoming hostel, clean, great kitchen space and well equipped, enjoyable evenings' spent in the Lounge playing rather noisy games. We walked the ridge spectacular scenery, this walk will be remembered for the slightly different but very welcoming coffee shop with good homemade flapjacks etc. a very enjoyable weekend with very helpful hostel staff, would thoroughly recommend Kington YHA

This place is warm! A great way to heat up after a cold day in the hills We stayed here for a family gathering of 28 and rented the entire property. Situated in the centre of Kington, catering and partying was a doddle thanks to a great big communal area furnished with sturdy wooden furniture. The kitchen is huge, clean,... More

Cheap looking the beds was unclean and damp. Unfriendly. Very out dated. The road outside had cars going past at all hours. Room was full of flys. The showers had no hot water. Toliets unclean. I will never stay here again

This is a clean hostel located in a somewhat residential area. There are pubs and the high street within walking distance. It is a good base if you wish to explore the Offas Dyke trail. You can nip in and out of Wales on a day hike, enjoying the scenic countryside views and peaceful sheep-filled fields. Our room which was... More

I stayed at this hostel on a cycling trip. We were the only guests . It is possible to reserve a private room if the Hostel is quiet. It is a lovely old building a short walk from the town centre. Facilities are excellent. The Hostel manager was friendly and helpful. Secure cycle store. Wonderful walks and ride in the... More

So pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the hostel and the Kington area and as you state "Wonderful walks and ride in the area and Kington deserves further exploration" Just need to point out thought, that this and all YHA's always offer the option of a private/family rooms as well as single sex shared (dorm) beds regardless... What a fabulous Youth Hostel this is! We hired it for a 2 day business meeting and had exclusive use. Amazing kitchen facilities, comfy lounge area and bedrooms with some double beds and en suites.. This venue and style of stay made our meeting much more enjoyable than usual and more productive!! It was great to have such flexibility. The... More

I chose Kington because it was on my route. Turns out I really enjoyed "one of Britain's great small towns". The hostel was the cleanest, nicest and most comfortable I have stayed in so far. There are at least 6 outlets in the 4-bunk room. (London, Bath and Cardiff had only one or two for up to 16 beds.) The... More
