The Hemel Hempstead Gateway Travelodge is situated a short drive from the M1, 5minutes drive from the town centre and immediately adjacent to a large new technology office estate. The traffic gets very busy at the morning and evening rush hour. The Travelodge is two years old and very modern. It is built on about 7 floors. We stayed on... More

I stayed recently at Travelodge Hemel Hamstead Gateway . The rooms and facilities were up to par with excellent value for money. The corridors were well lit and has a pleasant and nice smell. Beddings were fresh. Toilets were clean. Good security features on the doors / entrances. The staffs were friendly with hassle free and fast check in. Highly... More

The best travelodge so far, closely followed by sheffield meadowhall. Nothing is too much trouble and the whole hotel oozes professionalism. All staff were happy, knowlegable and pleasant. Rooms were lovely on the whole, though ours had a funny smell and the bathroom toilet smelled of urine. All other aspects were fine. Great that the carparking is free too.

8 or so stories high and great value. Standard intentikit Travelodge room with the now de-rigour plastic bathroom pod, no bath. Easy access if you're working on the industrial estates, etc... Yes my life really is that exciting. Nice-enough-for-what-it-is airy breakfast bar that also does evening food if you're desperate. Toby Inn (buffet breakfast from 8am, nicer than Travelodge, although... More

Great location, diner & bar, clean & comfortable room, friendly staff, loads of parking, adjacent choice of restaurants, However, Travelodge on-line booking system was a nightmare! Hence only scores 4.

We like this hotel. Decent location. Plenty of parking. Helpful, friendly staff. Reasonable restaurant. but it has a weakness. Noise from the room above. You can hear every footstep. If someone goes to bed late or gets up early you'll struggle to sleep.

Excellent location for Harry Potter World. It was cheaper than Watford Travelodge and has the benefit of free parking. The family room was spotless and roomy. There was some traffic noise but not at a level to cause any disturbance. The staff were excellent and very attentive. They Made sure our little boy was happy and were happy to make... More

We used this hotel as a base for a trip to Harry Potter world (a short drive away of about 4½ miles) and a trip to London the following day. The hotel was excellent, clean and very comfortable. We stayed on the 5th floor overlooking the car park and any concerns about noise were quickly allayed following our arrival as... More

The room was clean and basic and the bed was comfortable. We had to turn the heating off and open the window as it was so stuffy. Bathroom was small and no shelf in the shower, so nowhere to put shampoo etc. Shower cubicle was small and had a curtain, so the water went all over the floor. No bath... More

Stayed here to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour - it is only about a 15 minute drive away so excellent location. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Evening meal in hotel was very good - lots of choice and very reasonable. However there is a Dominoes and Toby Carvery downstairs as alternative. Easy access to London. All round an... More
