I has the misfortune to spend a night at the Ramada last November. Location wise, I have no quibbles - it is convenient for the Hemel/St Albans area and is relatively quietly situated in reasonable grounds. However, the hotel itself was dingy and in bad need of updating/freshening up. My room was small, dated, poorly furnished, not particularly clean, and... more

We stayed here for one night for a wedding and unfortunately our overriding memory of the day will be the cold. We had a room with single glazing and all day (and night) it was like being in a fridge; the hotel needs to turn on the heating!!! I hunted round the room in vain for blankets but there were... more

Stayed in this hotel for a short break with my wife, Thought that the hotel was in nice surroundings and just a short distance to both Hemel and St Albans. The room was clean and presentable. I thought that the prices in the hotel were on the high side. but on the whole it was an enjoyable stay. more

Chose this hotel because it was where I needed it to be in respect of the places I was visiting and also, many years ago before it was a hotel, the house was owned by my father's employer and I wanted to see what it was like these days. Staff very freiendly. Service was good. Food in restaurant was generally... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Ramada and fell that the property is very tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are very good and plentiful. We did not have dinner in the hotel but on viewing the the menu... more

Stayed here last week as I got a good price on Late Rooms, nice rooms good location only 5 minutes from work in Hemel. Ordered room service first night which was fine (no tray charge which makes a nice change) and ate in the bar the second night which was good as they had Setanta Sports which meant I could... more

Rooms quite nice - became warm at night - had a portable air-con that was not plugged in for some reason. Didn't notice the noise , don't think that the hotel was full. Bath had amazing sink they sprayed water everywhere! Staff very friendly and helpful. more

Stayed in Ramada 5 time during last year and a half, my company use this hotel. Every single time it is a same story. Generaly a very nice room (sometimes some problems with cleanlines in bathrroms), nice decor, good bed quality, nice amenity kit, great staff, hearty breakfast. BUT, the only problem this hotel has got is a noise level.... more

Checked in on company business and really only expected the bog standard corporate standard, however the check in staff were very nice and cheerful, the room was a good size, free WIFI in the bar was nice, only ate in the bar but the food was first class. Company paid so don't know how much it cost but if you... more
