This little inn has lots of character - exposed wooden beams etc. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I needed to book a taxi in the morning and they informed me that another guy was going to the same event and they would ask him if he would like to share a taxi which we did saving us... More

The King's arms is a lovely old English Inn the staff were very friendly and helpful . The real ale was good. we also enjoyed a nicely presented tasty mean. Our room was clean, warm and quiet. Beds a bit soft in room 2. A great find on our way south.

Stopped for a couple of nights with the wife to see the kids, decided to spend a bit more and get a nicer place to stay. Lots of positives, the staff are amazing, really friendly and helpful totally professional and uncannily pleasant. Room was nice, we had room 5 after tips we read here, and it is a nice room... Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend as we were down south for the Harry Potter studio tour. Pleasantly surprised with our room, the old beams and shape/style are a lovely feature to an otherwise modern space. The bathroom was a great size and also modern- only thing I would pick on with it was no handwash at the... More

Stayed here for a night and have to say it is a very comfortable hotel. Due to its age it has narrow stairways and corridors so not very good for mobility, but that is due to its age and gives the place character. Didnt eat there so cantl comment on the food but did exactly what I wanted with no... More

Refused to pay £100 for a Travelodge and thank goodness I did! This place is lovely and great value for money. Evening meal was better than many restaurants and the service was friendly, rooms spotless and luxurious will definitely look to stop here again.Highly recommended from someone who stays in hotels up to 4 nights a week.

We stayed for one night would have been longer but was fully booked. The superior was very quiet being at the back of the premises and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very basic but still enjoyable. Staff very friendly. Would certainly stay there again.

We stayed two nights in room 5. Clean, very comfortable and excellent WiFi. Missed the girls name who helped serve breakfast, but she was friendly, helpful and charming. Wish we had her name, but she was blond. Parking is very difficult but we parked in a nearby car park which had CCTV, so no problem. Would recommend it.

We stayed 3 nights as part of our visit to Harry Potter studios and London. Fantastic food and service throughout the stay; great luxury pub menu, lovely Sunday roast and cooked breakfast each morning. Parking can be difficult, but that was the only negative of our stay.
