I had just landed at Luton and been collected by my partner when the craving for a Sunday Lunch hit me. (foreign soils will do that to you, wont they?) I had, very childishly, giggled at the name of this pub when my bus had driven past it on the way to the airport a week beforehand, but had been... More

I was horrified when I ordered 4 drinks - 1 large white wine, 1 small red, 1 small rose and a double G&T. I paid £24 for these drinks and thought to myself gosh that's expensive but no matter! I was then informed she hadn't put on the G&T. Again didn't want to make a scene because the person who... More

Lovely Sunday lunch! Nicely served in a friendly atmosphere - thank you Nikki and the team! We eat here often and food is consistently good. Very central location in the High Street and the letting bedrooms upstairs are beautifully furnished. No doubt we'll be back - well done to all !

I cannot believe how a mediocre pub can charge these prices! The cost of the drinks in the bar is just simply daylight robbery. £10 for a single gin & tonic. £6.50 for a glass of ordinary, cheap, Australian wine. Can buy a bottle of this wine for less than the price of a glass here! How on earth do... More

Great little hotel in Harpenden. Rooms were very comfortable, food was served in restaurant downstairs, great staff, great food! The only slight downside not much parking at the back, but not a major problem! Would definitely recommend!

We have had a really enjoyable stay at the Old Cock Inn. The room (no. 4) we were in was very well appointed and spacious. Bathroom was very roomy with a bath and excellent shower. A couple of simple nice touches such as a teapot so you could make a pot of tea as opposed to making it in the... More

I visited for Sunday lunch. I ordered the seabass which I thought was a fillet. Full of bones,it was not edible so I spoke to the waiter (who did not come to ask us how our food was or if everything was ok). I explained to him that the fish wasn't edibile to which he responded "that is what you... More

What friendly staff and a fantastic stay! I was feeling a bit jaded after new year and wanted to change my room for one with a bath, no problem we had room 2, great space with an amazing bath... I had time to chill and soak my back before we headed out for diner. The bed was wonderful so comfy... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though for one night. We had Room One which was lovely, clean & cosy. Great size bathroom. The full English breakfast was really enjoyable and was hot, unlike some places where it's kept under hot lights etc. Would definitely stay again. Only downside is limited parking and traffic noise but hey it's on a main... More
