This is a very pleasant place to stay; the room was lovely, the food excellent and the staff were all charming and helpful. Food highlights for us were the mackerel and beetroot tart, with its perfectly cooked fish and a surprising marble-sized ball of incredibly flavoured basil sorbet with one of the puddings. Dinner would have been memorable for the... More

We would like to thank everyone at the Montague for another lovely stay. This time we took some friends with us and like us they really enjoyed our visit . As usual the rooms the service and the meal in the Terrace restaurant were impeccable. A special thank you to Sunil, Paul and the lovely Dawn in reservations . We... More

I've driven through Beaulieu many times and always fancied the look of the Montagu Arms so thought it would be a good shout for a treat for myself and my wife. We went with the dinner, B&B package on their site which, considering you're getting Michelin star grub, is great value. Add in the cost of a room upgrade, some... More

At the end of March my wife and I stayed 3 nights at The Montague Arms to celebrate our two ” 70 something” birthdays. The warm welcome we received on arrival was maintained throughout our stay by the rest of the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. We spent our days walking to Bucklers Hard alongside the lovely... More

We stayed for 1 night Dinner, Bed and Breakfast following a visit to the Beaulieu motor museum. Beaulieu itself is very picturesque. The hotel has been built and extended over the years and is a rabbit warren inside, Some of the rooms are probably not for the infirm with steep stairs and winding corridors. This makes the hotel very endearing... More

Everything from the check-in (at a real desk, not a counter!), the wood panelling, creaky floorboards and old photographs and prints on the walls felt like stepping back in time, and our room featured antique furniture and a canopy over the bed. Dinner in the michelin-starred restaurant was a highlight, complete with a view of the floodlit garden, and the... More

We stayed on a Saturday night, and also had lunch at the excellent restaurant. The room itself was pretty good, perhaps not the biggest, and suffers some limitations on space which is to be expected in a 17th century building. Other than that, the service was very good and the hotel itself is in a lovely setting, with beautiful gardens... More

Stopped here for lunch on Easter Bank Hol Monday. Absolutely charming! The sun was shining and the gardens looked beautiful. WE were made to feel welcome and relaxed, the service was wonderful. We just had a drink and ordered from the bar snacks. I had pate, my daughter had a crayfish sandwich and my husband went for a ploughmans.

Beautiful location and garden, hotel was olde worlde, lots of character and loved the log fire places. Certain areas were a bit tatty and would benefit with a refresh, the decor and furniture in the lounge and conservatory is miss matched and confused? Radiators were on full blast throughout the hotel and bedrooms, had to sleep with the windows open... More
