We have just returned from an Easter break at this hotel where we were made very welcome. It is true that the hotel is a little faded in parts, although having said that, our room was pleasant in an old-fashioned way, and scrupulously clean. The hotel is closing for six months in September for a complete overhaul, which will see... more

Have just returned from a 2 night stay. I think the hotel can only be described as a curate's egg. The good parts were definately the food - the evening 3 course meal was very good and the breakfast was fine too. Your enjoyment of this hotel will probably depend on just what your expecting, the rooms are a tad dated and those expecting champagne and bellboys on arrival might be less than excited.
