My son and I stayed here for one night whilst meeting for a motorcycling break. The staff are fantastic, friendly, helpful and made everything very easy for us. Excellent breakfast as well! The only drawback for me was the noise from showers and toilet flushing, an early rising neighbour woke me up in the middle of the night.

We stayed one night here whilst paying a brief visit to the forest. The hotel is clean and the staff all very friendly. Rooms are well presented and reasonably good value. Breakfast was also of a good standard and our overall experience a positive one. If this review sounds a little unenthusiastic then that is because although nothing to fault... More

What lovely staff at this hotel. Breakfast cooked or order, really well run breakfast room. Rooms spotless and very comfortable. Location great for Lyndhurst. Bar available too. Tea and coffee in room and some shower gel. Shower was hot and one of the most powerful I have had in a hotel for a while. Wifi is available in the lobby.... More

Lyndhurst is a great location from which to base yourself for exploring the New Forest. We stayed in the 2 person apartment (no living room) for a night over the August Bank holiday. The Penny Farthing hotel, is located in the center of Lyndhurst. The rooms are clean and the staff try to be helpful. However, there are a number... More

We have stayed at the Penny a few times over the past weeks. We based ourselves here when my father was poorly and was at Southampton hospital. My dad loved the New Forest and had stayed here in the past too. They were very accommodating as we chopped n changed our plans..we decided to leave earlier than planned, we extended... More

We were meant to camp. But after an 8 hour drive we still hadn't reached our campsite and the remnants of a hurricane were coming in. We opted to change our plans and try to find a hotel room at 7pm! Not expecting much as it was so last minute, we began trawling the internet. We found the penny farthing... More

My son and I had a twin room, which was very clean, comfortable beds and met our overnight needs. We stayed in 'Tricycle' at the very top of two flights of stairs. Just watch you don't bang your head on the sloping ceiling and I would say that the shower cubicle in this room was rather cramped and I'm of... More

Me and my four friends stayed at the Penny Farthing Hotel recently and greatly enjoyed our stay. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff. From the start they were so welcoming and accommodating. They were more than happy to help when one of our party had to drop out prior to our stay and to answer questions over... More
