I have been here twice for a carvery and each time the food is outstanding!!! It is hot, fresh and a great selection of veg! It is great value for money! You also get a free slice of cake with a hot drink. The staff were very friendly both times. Highly recommend

My family ate here on Sunday 20th October. We all had the carvery which was phenomenal. The choice of meats and vegetables is vast.. I particularly enjoyed the honey roasted parsnips and the green beans with bacon. There were even pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon) and stuffing balls. The value for money is amazing. It was only £7.95... More

My partner and I decided to eat after we were won over by the look of the front of the pub, beautiful flowers and a fantastic location in the high street. As it was getting late we sat inside, the pub is nice and clean, the bar staff were very friendly and what can I say about the food! For... More

I have been going to this pub for years and It keeps getting better. The bar is great and offers a great variety of drinks and reasonable prices! The food is fantastic and the carvery on a Sunday is a very popular choice with a lot of locals! The couple that run the pub are very friendly and hands on... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night in July en route to Bournemouth! Room had a shower, tv and was clean and the breakfast was excellent, wide choice. The Mailmans is positioned perfectly right in the middle of town. Wi-fi abailable which in this day and age is required. Staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble,... More

We only ate, we didn't stay here so can't comment on the accommodation. The food was average but as we were a party of 4 adults and 3 children under age 7, the spacious, clean and sunny beer garden to the rear was perfect for us and the location in lyndhurst is excellent.

In the pub area I felt very uncomfortable as a visitor and intimidated by the locals. At closing time I was forced to neck my drink as the bar lady said "drink up we are closed" more than once. before 11.30 !!! I will not be going there again and suggest that unless you are a local you don't go... More

Stayed here one night last week on our way from Devon to Sussex. Prices for bed and breakfast in Lyndhurst seem to be quite high compared to other places, we paid £75 but have had much better elsewhere for the same price. The bar staff were very nice but the room, although very clean, had a manly/musty smell from the... More
