Have just had a 4 night break for half term, staying Sunday to Thursday and enjoyed the hotel and the location for the New Forest area "attractions". The room was spacious and clean and well presented, the king size bed very comfortable. Not many staying so all meals in the small restaurant area, but food was excellent, the best thing... more

Arrived for the weekend and the receptionist was counting money at the reception. She did not even look up at us until she had finished and then said "do you want to check in". No welcome at all! We went to the room which is badly in need of reburfishment. Furnishings very old fashioned and the bathroom was even older.... more

Although slightly hesitant after reading reviews, this hotel is actually quite good. We booked a family room (2 young children, plus dog), which was on the first floor. Room was adequate, if slightly oldish decor. It was however spacious, which is the main thing. The indoor pool is great, and although hotel was quite full, the pool never was. Where... more

Good hotel, good location, friendly staff and nice food. We had a potential disaster on the first night though - having gone out at about 6pm, we got back at about 11.30pm. The hotel had all lights out and a message by the door saying "If you have forgotten your late key please ring the buzzer". However: a) We had... more

We have just returned from a two night break in the beautiful New Forest. The weather was ok, the scenery was lovely and the hotel was acceptable. Location of Hotel: Good, a nice walk into Lymington with its quaint shops, pubs and restaurants. Would recommend the Crown Brasserie in the town centre. Rooms: Ok but in need of a revamp,... more

I spent the weekend at the Forest Lodge to celebrate my birthday with my family, including 4 young children. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, especially of the children. Our rooms were clean and spacious, especially the family rooms. The food was very good and I liked the spaciousness of the dining room. The swimming pool is a huge... more

We stayed at this hotel as a group of 24 in December 2007 for the Christmas Party weekend. From the very beginning of the booking the staff were extremely helpful doing everything possible to provide for the needs a large group to enjoy the weekend. On arrival the reception staff were welcoming and all the staff were very friendly and... more

I used to live in the New Forest and was visiting friends and family. We had stayed at several other spots over the years. But this was our first experience with the BW Forest Lodge. This Hotel is minutes walk from the center of the village - but overlooks the rambling open country with wild ponies. The staff are incredibly... more

My wife and I needed a place to stay for one night over the summer in the New Forest because we were attending a big party in the country. After contacting a number of properties, we soon discovered that properties in the New Forest over the summer period insist on a two night stay if staying over the weekend. Eventually,... more

Having received booking confirmation we arrived to have no room. The staff where un-helpful, we eventually got a room after a cancellation. Room was musty and the bar staff unfriendly. Not what we had expected. We have stayed in lots of hotels and guest houses in the New Forest but this was the worst. If you can find somewhere else... more
