I have visited this establishment for lunch with some fishing friends and the food and service were excellent. On the basis of this experience I decided that it would be nice to stay in the hotel and enjoy a relaxed dinner after a day fishing on The River Test. I first tried to E mail the hotel to establish a... More

Dear James, Firstly, I would like to express my sincere apologies to you. I was pleased to read on your tripadvisor review that on a previous occasion you enjoyed your visit to The Greyhound on the Test. However, I am sorry that we have more recently let you down. Clearly the service you have experienced is not up to standard.... More

We stayed here on the way to visit relatives. Stockbridge is delightful and the Greyhound did not disappoint....initially. We were given room no. 6 at the front and, as we were to discover later, above the bar. The pub and the rooms are beautifully decorated with real style. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and the bathroom well equipped.... More

Visits to this gastropub in recent years have been adequate but slightly disappointing: menu items not available, variable service and cramped eating. However, under recent management, it is being rewarded for a marked improvement. The menu is imaginative and varied and offering plenty of choice for smaller appetites and vegetarians. For the price of the main dishes one might have... More

I stayed here for one night while visiting the area for work purposes. It was just dreamy. Located on the main street in the small town, it's walking distance from lots of interesting shops and a Co-op. I can't say much about the surrounding area but the inn itself is beautifully decorated and feels quite luxurious. I had dinner in... More

Delicious food, great ambience and wonderful staff. I love this beautiful stylish pub. My only niggle was that the food needs to be served on hot/warm plates. Our plates were all cold and this makes such a difference to a hot meal. I wouldn't hesitate to go back though as the food and everything else is fab. Kitchen staff please... More

We recently stayed in the Greyhound while we were attending a family christening. The rooms are all really well decorated and the situation of the Inn is first class, right on the main (quiet) road through Stockbridge. The breakfasts were really lovely with home made artisan breads from a local baker. We found it difficult on the Sunday to obtain... More

Had a family get together lunch here today. My first time in this part of England. Welcoming staff and could have sat outside in the pleasant back patio with logs burning on a mild 1st of November. We ate inside and the service was good. Excellent choice on the menu to cover all tastes with some difficulty in choosing just... More

We recently stayed at The Greyhound Inn for an overnight stay on a Saturday. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who checked us in & ensured we had a reservation in their restaurant for our evening meal. Our room (No 7) was more than adequate for us, it was large, comfortable, clean and... More

Booked Sunday lunch. Pleasantly greeted on arrival. The place was busy with many families and well behaved children. Service was just a little slow, but it was busy. The Sunday menu was quite limited with little choice. We both had smoked salmon for starter and although good was more of a taster. I had the roast beef which was more... More
