20/07/14 Just had an roast evening meal at Grosvenor everything was okay until I tried the Yorkshire roast which was stone cold in the middle section. At the end of the day I think it was a great improvement on the roast chicken I have had on 2 previous occasions, which was very dry. Happy days at the Grosvenor

Not my kind of place. Don't want to be too critical as only visited for afternoon tea - but even on a short visit, you can get the flavour of a place. Was kind of hoping that this kind of establishment was disappearing, but sadly, this seemed a 'good' example of a tired, run down English hotel: dirty, busy carpets,... More

After several trips the Grosvenor we chose this place as our wedding venue. They gave us a very good price, excellent service and the team at the Grosvenor were very friendly and helpful and helped us enjoy our big day. The plan was to do everything in the garden, however, British weather dictated that this was not meant to be,... More

Have seen other reviews who fairly mention need for refurb. However the place has a wonderful atmosphere with really friendly and helpful staff. Our room had lovely comfy beds large georgian window overlooking the street, high ceiling and overall light and airy feel. Plumbing quirky but none of the tiredness of the decor overcomes the great feel of the building.... More

This could be the flagship of Stockbridge hotels, unfortunately a lovely building has been allowed to deteriorate. The owners seem to be complacent about the need to refurbish the hotel probably because the hotel is fully occupied during the fishing season. The rooms are clean and comfortable, however avoid rooms 14&15 as they are beneath staff quarters and are noisy... More

Dear Sir/Madame, Thank you for your feedback placed on Trip Advisor, your comments are very important to us.Without feedback such as yours, we cannot begin to put right the things we are doing wrong. We are hopefully going to get a refurbishment in the near future, although no date has been set. Hopefully it will not be too far away. More

The hotel could do with updating. The food was good and service from the staff was good. The bedroom I had was on the front and would benefit from sound proofing. The hotel is in a good location. The hotel is also a dog friendly hotel.Good outside seating in the gardens at the rear of the hotel.

Enjoyed a three night stay with friends, staff were very helpful, the room was clean and tidy but a bit dated as was the bar. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings and the food and service were good. Nice location for visiting Winchester, Salisbury etc.

Went to a formal black tie dinner here and the food was a disaster. The starter was a pile of chopped salad leaves with a small mushroom in the middle, supposedly stuffed with cheese but that had obviously melted off. No bread or rolls offered with it. The main course was 'pan fried duck" which was so tough nearly everyone... More

We stayed here on Saturday 21st June for a wedding. Lovely venue and friendly staff. Food at the hotel was good pub food. Only negative was that the room we stayed in especially the bathroom could use a lick of paint and updating.

Definitely not the best hotel to stay at, but not the worst. Pros: Pet friendly (although I came without pet) There is a garden and it is quite good Beds are comfortable Relatively quiet place Cons: The furniture is quite old. Food is of very poor quality (at least breakfast). There's no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. There... More
