If you want a lovely homely atmosphere with great English reception and yummy breakfast come here! Set very close to the lovely town of Stockbridge, I was meant to base myself here for a half marathon nearby. My lack of organisation meant that this reason became void, but the quintessential English countryside and delicious restaurants of Stockbrige, trout watching and... More

A little gem! Very welcoming, lovely hostess and beautifully clean. A very relaxing place to stay. Dogs are truly welcomed here. We will be back. Plenty to see in the local area. Nothing more to say but try for yourself!

Fiona does a great job in making you feel welcome and ensuring that you enjoy your stay with her. Her attention to detail is excellent from the beautiful sheets and towels to the selection of teas and fresh milk available on your arrival. I hope to have the opportunity to stay again - many thanks

A pretty little village, lovely rooms, friendliness and a wonderful quiet location awaits you. Once you have found it you will love it. We enjoyed our stay a lot and most importantly our dog was very welcome too!!

Visiting 'The Museum of Army Flying' and 'Netheravon Village' I stayed for one night at 'York Lodge'. The location is rural, quiet and relaxing, a real tonic. I felt very welcome. It was very cold (sub-zero), wet and threatening snow, outside, yet I was warm, comfortable and cosy inside. My room was spotlessly clean, light and bright, everything had been... More

Travelling down from Derbyshire to visit our son in Winchester, we looked for a few stopovers. The usual Travelodge places were available, but had awful trip advisor reviews and although they were closer, we did not fancy them. However, we discovered York Lodge by googling dog friendly B and B's and this retreat came up. What a find! Our room... More

This is a very gentle place, perfect in every way. Everything has been thought of and one comes away feeling ver cosseted. The owner is a joy and cooks the most perfect breakfast. A wonderful position for visiting Salisbury and Romsey.
