Oh dear, oh dear! A friend and I booked independently through Superbreaks and after reading the reviews identified that not all the rooms have been refurbished. I telephoned the hotel a few days before to request the refurbished rooms. Of course I was given the "we will see what we can do, but no guarantees". Upon arrival......... and you already... more

My partner & I booked this hotel as a last minute New Years Eve celebration in Dec 2008. We were not disappointed. The attention to detail for all areas of service was excellent and we stay in many hotels including 5*. We would definitely return. more

I have stayed at the Potters Heron now 3 nights a week for the past six months, parts of the hotel are in need of modernization, most noticeably are the main corridors, the breakfast room & some of the guest bedrooms. I find the staff very friendly & helpful, but the food is a bit hit & miss, free Wifi... more

Having read some previous reviews I could not believe they were talking about the Potters Heron I stayed in recently because they certainly do not reflect my opinion of the establishment. I booked in with a colleague for 3 nights for a fishing/golf break. The initial signs were good - large car park, nice setting, attractive thatched building. This was... more

I didnt actually stay at the hotel as I live near by....(Im very pleased I didnt!) I have always loved the potters heron in the past for their excellent food and menu, so me and my partner went out to celebrate his promotion. The food was absolutly appalling on this occasion, I ordered ribs to start which were extremely dry... more

Having read earlier reviews on this hotel I could perhaps be forgiven for going somewhere else, but more recent reviews were more promising so we gave it a go - and very glad that we did. Plenty of car parking at the front of the hotel. Reception was very efficient and we were checked in without fuss or problem. We... more

My wife and I had chosen to have a couple of days of relaxation with family at a location neutral to both parties. We found the refurbished hotel to have a homely feel with the staff being extremely helpful with any requests. Our room was clean and tidy with a pleasant view and we felt very spacious. The lounge bar we... more

A party of 14 walkers from Norfolk stayed at this hotel for four days last week (mid October 2008) while enjoying a walking holiday in the New Forest. As far as I know everyone in our group appeared pleased with the hotel. My partner and I were very pleased with the consistently superb food, quiet and clean bedrooms and friendly... more

We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding that was at the hotel. The hotel looks clean and modern in the reception area but Oh dear the same cannot be said for the rooms. Had mold infestation all over the bathroom and the paint was peeling off the ceiling due to the mold. I was afraid to have a... more

My husband & I stayed here for a weekend away in January. I can not fault this hotel at all!! The Restaurant & Main lobby has been recently refurbished to a modern spec. The meals we had were lovely, breakfast included although we did have to quite a while for breakfast one morning, but it didnt bother us too much... more
