We stayed 6 nights at Cross Oaks Farmhouse B & B in late Sept 2014 and it was exactly what we expected and were looking for. Penny gave us precise and detailed instructions on how to find it which we followed without a Sat Nav. Next day Ben gave us clear instructions to the nearest Halfords in Salisbury to have... More

Even though we had confirmed our booking the day before on the phone and agreed that we would arrive at 4.30pm, when we got there at that time there was no one around to meet us. After knocking on the door lots of times and then phoning we had no answer, so had to call booking.com. I think that in... More

This is our third visit at Crossoaks Farmhouse and it never fails in our expectation of being a home from home feel B&B. The farmhouse is what it is, a 600yr old delight!! Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, as is the lounge to where you can make yourself feel as if your in your own lounge back home. Breakfast is... More

We found the farmhouse that could do with some tender loving care to the outside of the building, plus some tidying up of the garden. A long explanation by Ben as to places to eat and a mention of hornets around the property, we did not expect the hornets to come down the chimney and would like people to know... More

Perfect location if you want peaceful countryside. Ben did his best to entertain and feed us and succeeded in both. 600 year old property has character but also has an air of neglect. Just needs a bit of TCL. Lovely, relaxing place to stay.

Our family of 5 had 2 nights at Cross Oaks which was just as advertised - a 600 year old farm house with low ceilings and sloping floors. Our welcome was warm and we were generously hosted by Ben - a larger then life character - and an experience in his own right. Our quarters were generous, having 2 rooms... More

We arrived at this bed and breakfast to be told that they couldn't find our booking form! Then it became apparent that in fact our family suite had been double booked. We had booked several months in advance as we knew the weekend we wanted was going to be very busy. We were kept waiting why they so say tried... More

Our family of 5 spent two nights at this rather rustic, but charming 600yr old farm homestead. It is located a little out of the way but with good directions it wasn't too hard to find. It is just down the road from where Florence Nightinggale is buried. We had the end suite upstairs with 2 bedrooms, the larger master... More

We tried to book a week-end getaway via booking.com and Cross Oaks seemed to be the perfect place. On the booking.com site they mentioned they had a family room available for 5 people which seemed just perfect for us and our 3 children. To know a bit more, about the property I just booked, I looked for their own internet... More

I have read the reviews and it is like we are reviewing 2 different places - and in fact we are. Apparently the rooms in the house are good. However, we paid a lot of money, based on these reviews, to book the 8-person cottage and it is really not worth it. It is a cold, damp, leaky converted shed... More
