Booked into here for a wedding in the area and had no idea what to expect in a small Hampshire village. Selling point of the George for us was that they are dog-friendly - not so easy when travelling outside of France! The staff is extraordinary and welcoming, immediately making you feel at home. The room was large and comfortable... More

We had a very comfortable overnight stay here. The room was large with a good ensuite. We were given fresh milk for our teas/coffees in the room (and biscuits) and the staff were very welcoming. Our evening meal was superb. We needed to leave very early the next morning before breakfast was being served so our hosts supplied us with... More

Had lunch on the patio here on bank holiday weekend, and the food was very nice. It was reasonably pricey for pub food, but we thought it was worth it. I had the fish and chips, which was delicious. The staff were friendly (the man behind the bar was a bit of a grouch, but the girls were all lovely)... More

We used Ye Olde George for the first night of our mountain bike ride of the South Downs Way. It's really well located for the trail, a swift downhill sweep into the village. All the staff at the pub bent over backwards to look after us and cater to our needs. Beers are from Hall & Woodhouse and are OK,... More

We stayed at ye olde george inn for our anniversary. Pros: lovely location, friendly staff, great food in the pub downstairs, good parking facilities and bringing fresh milk on arrival is a nice touch. Breakfast is good. Cons: small room and bed. Not particularly clean (dead flies around window), small TV and shower only. Our room smelt of drains and... More

I don't want to criticize too heavily as this pub does good food and beer and the staff were friendly and helpful when we stayed. Its also well positioned for the South Downs way. It ticks the basics, clean, tidy, basic requirement. The pity is that it could be much better if the rooms were spruced up a bit or... More

An absolute gem of a pub tucked away in a beautiful village. we stayed here for a couple of nights for the Goodwood Revival and had a very relaxing time. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable and all of the staff were really helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic, with a great selection of meals, and puddings to die... More

Historical inn, excellent rooms, good beds, large bath tub, very clean, hospitable staff, good food at the restaurant. Nice little town. Good accommodation along the South Downs way. Would stay again.

We stayed for one night, for a wedding near by. Pub is full of character, including original wooden rickety floors. Let's be clear... It's funny shaped, uneven floors and can be a bit noisy. But that's what it is! Don't expect large air conditioned rooms and fancy lifts. Staff were great and had a lovely relaxing breakfast.
