Booked at last minute to break up a long journey. Got twin room inc breakfast for £30 for two of us! Don't let first impressions put you off. Everywhere needs a lick of paint but if you're only sleeping and showering ......Was extremely pleased with the fresh white bed linen and comfortable bed, and the bath towels were the softest... more

Stayed for friday and saturday night over the bank holiday with my wife and another couple. The staff from reception to cleaning to bar to restaurant were solicitous and friendly. The breakfasts were very good and there was lots of attention paid us by the staff bring more coffees, teas ,toast etc when required. Nothing appeared too much trouble. Our... more

I paid £39 for 2 of us to stay including breakfast, and I don't think I could ask fairer than that Check in was not all that. We were told we could check in from 2pm, but when we got there we were told that our room was not ready and he could not give us a rough gestimate as... more

Dated décor, Noisy room from the kitchen extractors, lukewarm water for my evening shower. I will not stay at this hotel again. Reception deducted £20 off my ~£72 bill. The room I stayed in looks nothing like the one on the website. more

I have stayed at this Hotel several times and always thought it to be ok .. as long as you didn't expect too much and just wanted a one nights reasonable priced stay. However I return today from the last time I will bother to book the Hotel. In the evening we thought it would be nice to have a... more

I have stayed here several times with work and I feel it is time to vent my spleen. Overpriced, shabby, populated by staff who go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible. An absolute dump that deserves to go out of business as soon as possible. Do not spend a penny on this place. The worst place... more

Mary from Basingstoke Stayed 27/09/08 We stayed at the Raven for The Official Monster Raving Loony Party Conference at the weekend. We found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and polite. Although it was a trek to our room (39) it was stylishly updated and decorated, averagely clean and spacious. I do think the bathroom could have done with... more

I stayed in the Raven for one night, at a cost of £85.00 bed and breakfast. I have to say I was quite disappointed, the room was dingy with several plaster repair marks on the wall and the bathroom had a grubby feel about it. In balance the bed and linen were clean. From a sleep point, the room was... more

The Raven Hotel is perfectly adequate for one night or maybe a weekend. You would not want to go there for a holiday! Its right next to the station and close to pretty much everthing in Hook. (not that there`s much!) more
