We had a huge room with a good sized bathroom. Our bed was so comfortable. Nice touches were hairdrier and Iron (which unfortunately did not come with instruction for my husband) It is an old building so dont expect straight walls and perfection as in a new purpose built hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful including bar staff... More

After checking on our two week exhibition at the Meeting House Ilminster and then on our way to visit family in Sussex we stayed over night at the Bear Hotel to break our journey. Situated in the main street near the centre of town the Bear Hotel (still retaining some of its historical charm) was obviously once a coaching inn.... More

We found this hotel to be tired and in need of a refurb but it was clean and warm and as it was on a special deal great value for money. The bedroom had a double and single Bed so plenty of room. Bit of a mix up as two days running we missed the daily clean and bed making... More

The hotel is very old and tired looking, though having said that the room was spotless and the staff very friendly. Had to attend a funeral locally so got a good deal online as the hotel was near where the funeral was to take place. The restaurant was nice and the food very good and well priced. Not a hotel... Completely enjoyed my stay there, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. I've been here a lot and The Bear Hotel has never disappointed! Well worth your money.

I stayed at the bear hotel recently with my partner and two young children, on arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who did not seemed phased by our two urchins constant excitement of being somewhere new. in fact she gave some good advice on places to go locally where they could explore. The room was spacious and very... More

We stayed in the Bear Hotel Havant just for the one night, what can I say we had a comfortable clean room, all staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food in the evening was beautiful cooked just how we asked (not surprising as they have a 5 star rating) and breakfast the following morning... More

Whats the first thing a dog does when it meets another dog?. And then once the formal introductions are out of the way what does it do then?. Thats right,it either attempts to mount it or fight with it.This was the scene in the bar of The Bear Hotel when we stayed there over this last weekend where three obviously... More

Instead it's just very tired & desperately in need of investment. I'm sure the building has a rich & colourful past but I didn't see anything about it anywhere, which is a shame. I did only use it for a quick drink in bar then back later for bed & breakfast. Tired furnishings, threadbare carpets & a toilet that was... More

Rushed back to the hotel from work at ten O'clock to get a drink. Not an unreasonable expectation I thought. As well as being closed the staff were rude and didn't even make eye contact. The hotel is quite big and I suspect its half empty. Despite this I'm in a room next door to somebody who insists on listening... More
