Beautiful well placed hotel and very comfortable. Room was roomy as was the bathroom, shower cap would be a nice touch though, all you could want for a comfortable stay. One down side of the room was the TV......not good, no sky or even freeview but there were even terestrial programmes we could not get ie; channel five. We did... more

Stayed at the Red Lion for 1 night Bed and Breakfast.Good value for money booked it through www.booking.com £75 for a double room. This was cheaper than booking it on the hotels own website. We had a bar lunch in the evening at the hotel good food reasonably priced.Breakfast was also good. Plenty parking space I would definately recomend this Hotel... more

The picture on the website suggests the rooms are modern, but unfortunately our room did not live up this. The bathroom was nice and had obvioulsy been recently done, but the bedroom decor was dark and mismatched and the carpet old and furniture worn. I think the whole hotel is in need of brightening up and they need to loose... more

We had an offer from Old English Inns (oldenglishinns.co.uk) which gave us a weekend's B&B plus dinner on the first night for £99 - a real bargain. The hotel is an old coaching inn, bang in the centre of Fareham. The town doesn't have much going for it, but its a good base to visit the coast. The hotel has... more

I found the the Red Lion to be an adequate if over priced hotel and was somewhat glad to only be staying the one night. My room's bed was set up against the wall and was relatively small for a double bed. For me by myself it was fine and admittedly it was comfortable but I think two people may... more

I booked into the hotel while on a 1 week course in Gosport. I found the parking to be excellent, ecure, plenty of spaces and easily accessible. The hotel itself is right next to the pedestrian precinct in Fareham, a reasonable amount of shops and many restaurants within a short strolling distance. The staff are friendly and the hotel has... more

Stayed here over the Easter weekend. Good location - just a walk along the High St to shops/restaurants etc. Room a good size and bathroom huge. Spotlessly clean. Safe parking. Quiet - wouldn't have known anyone else was there. No lift but there were rooms on the ground floor if you have a mobility problem. Breakfast was great. Choice of... more

Nice looking place, well situated in the town centre but was tricky finding the car park in the dark. Reception staff very good, fast and efficient. Room was large, very well decorated with possibly the largest bathroom I've ever seen. Service in the dining room was excellent, good choice on the menu and the food was well presented and tasty.... more

The Red Lion Old English Inn was easy to find and is located very close to the main shopping area in Fareham and the opposite end of the precinct to the rail station (about 15 minute walk). The hotel has a good-sized, secure car-park. We booked using a certain supermarket’s loyalty points so the hotel was a bargain for us.... more
