We happened to be passing through Emsworth and fell in love with the place so decided to find a room for the night, one that would accept dogs as well. The Crown did exactly that. We booked it online while having lunch in a nearby establishment and then strolled over to check in. Staff was friendly and we were shown... More

I write this at 10 to midnight. The band is still going strong. The soundproofing in the room is so bad that the fixtures were shaking at times. I've been down twice to try and speak to someone about the noise and funnily enough no one was available.... In other news worthy reviewing aspects: the room wasn't very clean to... More

As parents we find if differcult to find a nice place to share an evening with my nearly eighteen year old daughter. We went to the Crown in Emsworth on a weekend because they had advertised a live band. We had gone to a hotel which was similar in Weymouth a couple of weeks before and had a great family... More

Did'nt stay at the hotel, took some friends for a meal , had heard it was good, we did'nt eat in the bar area but in the small dining room, live band playing had we realised would have gone somewhere else.I had brie with garlic&rosemary for a starter, nice if it had been hot, the steak & ale pie for... We have used the crown on many occasions. Although I think the pub itself is decorated very nicely, the staff and the landlord really let it down. I find the landlord to be friendly only when he feels like it and only to people when he can be bothered. We use all the pubs in Emsorth very regularly, the last... More

For £80 for one night (without breakfast) is it reasonable to expect more than trickle of cold water from the shower. Clearly this is an issue which is known or could reasonably be expected to be known by the owner/manager. Its disgraceful and disingenuous to continue taking peoples hard earned salaries knowing full well the facilities are not fit for... More

We stayed here for one night in February 2015. The welcome we received was the warmest we've ever experienced. The food was superb, couldn't fault it. I've read the other reviews and, yes, the rooms are 'tired', and could possibly do with a makeover, but that didn't detract from anything. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed a... We had an excellent overnight stay in this fine old coaching inn. The host and staff were really welcoming and happy to accomodate our two small dogs. We had a nice room with a lovely big bed and more than adequate en-suite bathroom. All usual tea and coffee etc facilities provided in the room. We ate in the bar and... More

Please be advised the food is poor,I complained about my lamb meal only to be offered a 10% reduction despite only eating 20% of it.Meal took five minutes to serve and as there where only six other people in the restaurant area I was assured it was cooked in the oven whilst I waited! School dinners where so much better,but... More
