Stayed here last night for our wedding anniversary with friends. The proprietors and all staff were (chefs included), without exception friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were lovely (Nutmeg &Cinnamon) very clean and pleasantly decorated, making use of the available space well. We were able to park onsite a HUGE bonus in Emsworth. Our meal was...could use so many superlatives... More

I've been coming here with friends as a special treat for 10 years and have always had a fantastic meal, but not this time. I came in mid September and the menu is totally different. The presentation isn't as clean or attractive and now is overwhelmed with rich sauces. Why? My motto is ' if it isn't broken don't mend... More

36 on the Quay is best thought of - and describes itself - as a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel. The restaurant has a Michelin star and is in a 17th century building on the quay in a pretty village, with views over the harbour (though the quality of the view varies from room to room). The handful... More

What a treat to find an old building full of character which offers rooms and a superb dining experience in the restaurant. Allows you to be as greedy as you like and not worry about driving home! The guest room we stayed in (Cinnamon) had plenty of space, a corner room, a window seat where we watched the tide coming... More

My wife and i visited this restaurant as it got some rave reviews on here. It appears to me I have a different idea of a superb meal from other reviewers, it was incredibly expensive £180 for two people - more of that later. We started with a Bellini and an orange juice and ordered a bottle of water and... More

We had a one night stay in the nutmeg room , we had a lovely view over the causeway . The room has a very cosy comfy bed, beautiful bed linen. Very clean, nice tea coffee and biscuits tray. Spotlessly clean nice bathroom, with lovely white fluffy towels and bathrobe. The free shampoo etc is of very nice quality. I... More

There are mixed reviews on here but I certainly wouldn't let the bad ones put you off. Maybe I was lucky with my food choices (cannelloni, hake then the cheese) but each course was delicious and surpassed that of many one michelin-starred restaurants in London I've been to. My boyfriend had the turbot with a chicken and broccoli crumble which... More

We ate in the restaurant a couple of nights ago and while the service was excellent and the restaurant itself was very smart the food was not worth the cost. I can not say it was bad but neither was it that good. The starter I had was based on squid but was mainly raw cauliflower. My main course consisted... More
