My husband and I have dined at this lovely restaurant several times for special occasions. When I spotted the offer on Groupon for a six course taster menu including B & B for £135 I immediately bought a voucher. We stayed in the Cinnamon room which we thought was lovely and quirky. The meal was beautifully presented and delicious. The... More

An ideal place to go if you’re celebrating a special occasion, needing to getaway for a short break or just want to experience some fantastic food. A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a place that ticked all of those boxes and found this little gem. I would certainly recommend 36 on the Quay for dinner or a... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night as a surprise treat for him and we weren't disapointed at all. We stayed in the Nutmeg room which was cosy but nicely appointed. The taster menu in the evening was to die for and the attention to detail in everything from the service to the table linen was impeccable. In... More

We have dined and stayed at 36 On the Quay a few times over the past 15 years and have always had immense pleasure from the experience. We did this most recently on Valentine's night - on this occasion in Cardamom Cottage. When booking I was not aware that there had been changes in the kitchen. On Valentine's night, in... More

Stayed for one night in the clove room ,small but tastefully decorated. Slept fine even though bed too soft for me. Had the 6 moments menu food which was very good as were the staff who made us feel very welcome. Would recommend .

We had wanted to eat in this restaurant for some time and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we had a warm welcome and great service. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We had the 6 course tasting menu in the evening and breakfast bought to the room in the morning, both were excellent. Would definitely... More

Spent a wonderful night at 36 on the Quay. Had read a couple of reviews so had a panic and nearly cancelled as "big treat" for boyfriend's birthday. Really glad that I didn't. Arrived and were greeted by staff who couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and settled in our room. Enjoyed the taster menu which had... More

Went with expectations of a really nice hotel with good food. Disappointing on all counts - the minute we walked in, it had the feel of a guest house rather than a hotel and our bedroom was small, overlooking the village car park before view of the harbour. The taster menu was attractively presented but tasted bland with no ambiance... More

My husband and I stayed last Saturday evening - a late booking and I came across the place via a local Groupon offer. Saturday wasn't included in the offer but we were offered a late booking offer which included 3 course meal. Booking through to check-out was all conducted very professional. The place is nicely situated, room was fab (Vanilla... More
