Staff helpful but the whole building needs updating. Its cheap and cheerful so no point in complaining if you've only paid £40 for 3 people to stay. Handy for local attractions More

After reading the reviews we were very apprehensive about the stay, but we were pleasantly suprised as it was a comfortable stay. When we arrived the pleasant girl on reception put us at the back of the building as it was a quite room. The room was very dated but clean for the price we paid it was good value... More

I stayed with my wife and daughter for one night on the 5th November 2011. We arrived late and didn't take very much notice of the room as we all very tired. In the morning we found the edges of the carpets and corners of the table tops and tops of the headboards covered in dust. The bath had a... More

I arrived at Barton Stacey Travelodge at about 2230 was allocated room 20. Upon opening the door to the room I was met with the pungent smell of drains and damp. Without unpacking, I went to open the windows and found they were already. It was then I noticed the air fresheners placed in the room. This indicated to me... More

An exceptionally poor example of the gendre. The room was dirty - high surfaces had not been dusted in months. The bathroom was ew! broken grimy tiles and a dirty toilet. It is apparent that TL is milking these sites before they spontaneously combust. Avoid. More

This Travelodge was awful. The bathroom was a disgrace, the toilet itself was disgusting. The rest of the room was filthy, you could write your name in the dirt on the top of the tv.We complained but all we were given was a variety of excuses. The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. More

We stayed here for 1 night on the way to Poole to catch the ferry to Cherbourg. It is a good example of how Travelodges have been allowed to deteriorate. The bed was not comfortable - too bouncy, and the shower in the bathroom was pathetic. More

We booked this Travelodge about a month before the stay and paid online. When we arrived at 9.30pm the manager told us that they didn't have a room for us and we'd have to drive to Newbury (30 minutes away). He said we wouldn't get any travel expenses / compensation as "you book room, you get room". Apparently he'd tried... More

I stayed here for 3 nights on business, the usual B and B I use was booked up for the weekend. On arrival the first thing I noticed was that the hotel is right alongside the dual carriageway and next to a petrol station, behind a Little Chef, not exactly a picturesque location. I've stayed in Travelodge before and the... More

There was a damp, musty smell in the corridor and in the room. There was no toilet paper, we had to ask for it. There was no towel rail. There was one bath towel, for two guests. We had to ask for another. There was no bath mat. The sofa bed was grubby and dirty, the cover needed a wash.... More
