Room was comfortable and clean and staff were very friendly and helpful, the owners were around from time to time and were keen to ensure that our needs were met. I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again. more

I have stayed at other hotels in the locality, and this is by far the best in the area. The food is worthy of any fine dining restaurant, in fact Trufles the reastaurant within The Grange is of the same calibre. The services was excellent, vey personable, made me feel right at home from the moment I set foot through... more

I had to get a room at a moments notice due to a last minute business trip. I must say I was not dissapointed, even though I arrived very late and awoke the owners they were very courteous and I felt welcome straight away. The rooms are obviously themed and it seems as if a lot of care has been... more

How to begin? Well the decor in this hotel is truly horrible. Artwork is the worst ever. very 1970s. The bedroom was very dated, with messages like 'breakages must be paid for' and ' items security coded' (strange this last one, no one in their right mind would take anything from the room!) dotted around as a welcome. The most... more

We needed a place to stay on our way to Dorset, so we stopped here. The rooms were big, but a little tired looking. The breakfast was great, but I wouldn't recommend eating dinner. Overall it was good value for the money. more

Stayed 4 weeks. Would recommend this hotel for those looking for local charm, helpful staff, excellent resturant, and friendly folks in the English bar. I'm not from the UK, and everyone was very helpful. Each room is uniquely decorated. 5 stars based on personality. more

We are frequent visitors to The Grange Hotel as my husband's business often brings him to this part of Southern England and this has been going on for the last ten years. Our experience has been nothing but positive. We find that the staff always makes us feel welcome on arrival and goes to every effort to ensure that we... more

Having stayed at this comfortable hotel with a beautiful garden earlier this year, we decided to return for Sunday lunch. I can highly recommend it, the food was excellent and the service quietly efficient. The bedrooms are spacious, each one very unique and there is at least one with a 4-poster bed. The only criticisms I would make are the... more

Overall, this was a positive experience. Having booked one of the hotel's 'Winter warmer' deals which included an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast, we were brusquely greeted upon arrival by a slightly disinterested female member of staff, who quickly palmed us off on another surly individual, tasked to show us to our room. The room itself, situated in a cottage... more

Looking to book a value for money accommodation with dinner deal for the Christmas period, my husband and I took advantage of the internet ‘Winter Warmers’ one night package special offered by the 3* Alton Grange hotel. At £150.00 for one nights accommodation inclusive of a 3 course dinner with wine at the hotels double rosette winning Truffles restaurant, we... more
