Ground floor room in separate block to main building - no window to open at night, noise from business men leaving the bar, hooting their car horns (oh yes!!) at 11pm, smokers in smoking area situated right outside my room and the family above who checked in / returned at about 11.30 (talking loudly at my window and stomping around... This hotel is about 7 miles from Alton on the A32. We stayed for one night in a chalet type room and for a second night in the main building. Both rooms were very clean and well appointed (for the price). Flat screen T.V.s, free WIFI, hair dryer, iron and ironing board plus tea and coffee making facilities and powerful... More

Right this review does not include the accommodation. What it does include is the drink, food, location, bar/eating area and staff. All were excellent. Portions and value were great. The staff were great fun and smiley - excellent. We all (7 of us) had a great lunch and then pressed on with our epic bike ride... Will revisit:)

If staying a couple of nights in a hotel means getting a good nights sleep than this failed as it was the worst experience in a couple of years. People sat outside our bedroom window talking until 3am, it was very hot no fan or airconditioning and windows shut in failed attempt to reduce noise. The ale at £2 a... More

The Angel is in a pleasant rural location but well placed for excursions to attractions in the area and convenient for Petersfield station to take the train and ferry to the Isle of Wight. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the buffet breakfast and dinner were very good while the hotel's own beer at £2 a pint was very acceptable.... More

The hotel is basic. The rooms in the annexe have paper thin walls and you can hear everything from the adjacent rooms. The rooms are ready for a refurbishment too. The food is edible but nothing exciting. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly, but the Sunday breakfast staff need training in hospitality and customer service. I stay in... More

We had two nights at this hotel. Nice country hotel bar and restaurant. The room was clean, good sized and very comfortable, with TV, tea and coffee, hair dryer, even an iron and ironing board. The shower had a very poor control apart from that the bathroom was good. We ate there twice, both time the food was good, the... More

We used the hotel as a stopover whilst visiting relatives. The location is good, you are surrounded by green fields, small villages & woodland. The hotel is a large pub with an annexe where our room was located .The room was compact ,clean & comfortable. The pub lunch & the breakfast were excellent value.Fresh tasting food at a resonable price. The bar serves... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Winchester which is 30 minutes away. No problem parking, there are lots of spaces and the Receptionist on duty was welcoming and friendly. The lounge area feels cozy with comfortable armchairs, an interesting selection of books and collection of vintage items. Despite the room size being shown on the website... More
