We stayed at the Lowry for a weekend break away in Manchester and found it to be an excellent hotel. The reception and lobby areas were very spacious although there did seem to be too many bare walls. The reception staff were very efficient and friendly and offered all the required information and assistance to our room. The corridors to... more

Having written a number of reviews in recent years I have never given a 5* until now. We found this hotel to be friendly ( not always the case in a 5* hotels ) relaxing and very smart. The rooms are large and very modern, to a standard that you would expect, as are the bathrooms. The restaurant is superb... more

I was put here with 2 hours notice after a works conference overran. Difficult to find if you don’t know Manchester but still good central location. Easy parking outside and fine check in/out. Apparently it’s very artistic but I found it overly stark and not relaxing Good things – lovely spacious quiet room, big comfortable bed, great walk in wardrobe,... more

I found the hotel was excellent value for money at the price we paid (£180 per night @ lastminute.com) It was a superior room with river views. The room was very large and spacious, huge bed, flat screen tv. The furniture was elegant and tasteful, and the room was imaculately clean. The bathroom again was spacious, clean and with a... more

The Lowry is not a luxury hotel - it's a fine, well run, 4* at best. The restaurant food however was excellent. My main gripe is the quality of the public areas and even the rooms - just all a bit ordinary. I also hate hotels that charge for absolutely everything - no free WiFi anywhere, no complimentary water in... more

Having seen this 5* hotel listed on here as the number two in manchester and looked at the beautiful pictures and description of it on their own website, we booked a friday night getaway to manchester to celebrate our anniversary. After being away on business for the week, we planned to meet up here in the 'spa' for a relaxing... more

Didnt have any particular expectations as first time Ive stayed 5 star, however the service personnel were eager to please, very attentive and plentiful. The room was the biggest Ive stayed in yet, in the UK so top marks here, however being a gadget and camera lover, there were few sockets for charging my choice items. The bed was enormous... more

In this hotel we had an excellent room and can't find fault with it, but the longer we stayed there the more problems arose. It is a very unatmospheric hotel that seems set up purely for business travellers and not for a luxury relaxation which is what we would expect with a leading hotel and the price we were paying.... more

Booked into this Hotel on recommendation and loved it. I asked to be on the top floor looking out towards Salford - views are brilliant- floor to ceiling windows. Comfortable good sized room, comfy bed, flat screen TV and decent bathroom. Keep your eyes peeled for celebs too! - i saw a couple of professional footballers during my stay. A... more

The Lowry is the only place to stay in Manchester if you are looking for a comfortable, modern , airy hotel. Very good size rooms. Unfortunately the staff have an attitude problem which is common in Manchester, in that the locally recruited staff can not do right, because they have no idea what right is, and seem to have had... more
