We booked a special offer and were surprised to be allocated a beautiful room with for poster bed and a big, big bath! Reception was quick and efficient. Service at table was excellent. Menu had three choices for each course. Food was goo quality with generous portions. As with most Bay hotels meal tables are very close together which is not... More

We stayed for a four day break and it was excellent value for half board. Our room was compact but very acceptable. Food was good even for my wife who is gluten free. Staff were excellent. Small niggles were WiFi access not in rooms but there are comfortable places to sit if you want to use this facility. Also the... More

Thank you for your review 'All good' and 'good value' is what we like to hear, I will pass on your comments to our purchase manager but I rather like our ice cream when the staff let me sample it ha ha Melanie Mann General Manager More

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was in what appeared to be an annexe, very clean, large bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee, comfortable beds. Staff friendly, food typical of hotel catering for the masses, good choice, something for everyone. Drinks expensive, large glass of white wine (Stowells, French), and a pint of "Bob" almost £10!!! This hotel styles... More

Thank you for your review - at least I think its a thank you as most of it appears to be complimentary (humour not sarcasm) it is actually 2miles to Berkeley so I am sorry to say you may have taken a slight detour but hopefully you found it in the end and enjoyed all it has to offer. Having read the negative reviews about this hotel ... well how wrong can they be. We arrived today to a warm welcome and after a short wait (we were early) we relaxed in our room which was well decorated and comfortable. We went down for evening meal which was excellent. The service was first class and highly efficient. Some people... More

Thank you so much for your review, I sometimes feel I spend far too long responding to the 'moaners' on this site that I dont give enough time to respond how I would like, to the lovely guests like yourselves who really have had a great time and appreciate everything we do. So Thank you because we appreciate your praise... More

We stayed here for 4 nights (Mon - Friday). Our room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking a grassed area so it was quiet but had no net curtains to the window so when dressing the other curtains had to be closed as the grassed area was open to other guests. We felt the room required a bit... More

Thank you for your thoughts, hopefully we represent 'good value for money' so with reference your comments about the food, it is never 'measured' but portioned so that we do not incur a lot of wastage. everyone has different appetites so we are trying to cater for all and any guest who feels their meal is not enough are very... Our room was very old and tatty. Had to request towels and toilet tissue after the room had been cleaned! Housekeeping was not happy when I requested them to have a look at the shower (literally dribbling water) in the bathroom. Food was like school dinners and rationed. The female enterntainer on the Wednesday was extremely rude! Told a 80... More

I like to respond honestly and welcome constructive criticism so that we can improve our service but find it very difficult with this type of review, nevertheless I will take your comments on board and I am genuinely sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us but thumbs up to the driver who I agree is great. Thank you for your comments, I too think it was a lot of fuss over nothing and I am sorry the waiter serving you said this as it is not 'the norm' I can only apologise, the chef would only say no is if she had run out and then would have offered an alternative, the waiter is fairly new... More

... on the way up the M5 from Cornwall. Comfortable bar/eating area layout, (one, at the time) real ale and good quality food. I can't comment on the hotel itself but it looked spacious and well-maintained. Certainly worth a 'stop' for food, if you're ever down that way.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and for letting others know about us, so often people drive past the hotel in search of a 'pub' not realising that we serve food all day and are open to non-residents. Melanie Mann General Manager More
