This was a lovely Hotel in a good location for exploring the Cotswalds. After a day out travelling it was lovely to come back to this retreat and relax for the evening. The hotel is a beautiful old Manor and the grounds are lovely. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. The room... more

I stayed here while attending a wedding recently, we had room 10 which had been recently redecorated, fairly tasteful but done on the cheap. The bed was horrendous - maybe they are waiting for a replacement as they can't have left it in a refurbed room on purpose, the mattress was 4" thick, limp and lumpy. The shower was also... more

Lovely manor house with newly-built extensions which does not blend well and is vast and rather travelodge-like. Dated bedrooms with horrid bathrooms but comfortable beds and some refurbished rooms were better than other non-refurbished rooms. Unhelpful and rude staff that need some sort of training as they have obviously had no customer service training whatsoever. Breakfast selection is good (especially... more

After considering numerous options, we finally decided on Stonehouse Court as our family Christmas venue on the recommendation of a friend who'd recently attended a wedding there. It was everything that I'd hoped it would be and more. We were a party of one couple and two single adults booked into a double and two single rooms, on arrival we... more

After many years of Christmas at home my father, sister, husband and myself decided to have a short break away. We were looking for something to suit us all and we definately found it at Stonehouse Court! The building was beautiful, warm and welcoming with the promised log fire in the lounge area. The staff were excellent, finding time to... more

We got to the hotel for a christmas function last Saturday. We arrived at about 3pm, the reception area was cold, the bar was freezing, the corridors were cold, and so was our bedroom. On complaining we were told "the heating comes on in half an hour" so that's ok, but I'm cold now. The evening do, with a christmas... more

We were not sure what to expect, having read some quite old reviews of this hotel. Beatiful building and grounds, very well maintained and full of flowers even in mid-October. Good points: historic building, beautiful grounds, very friendly, helpful staff, good food, well located. Bad points: ordinary rooms in the modern garden extension, rather high price, lack of efficiency at... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The hotel looks fantastic from the outside, and the interior hall is welcoming and traditional. However, the service was poor all round. The receptionist was on auto-pilot and was not particularly welcoming. The champagne on ice that I ordered for the evening, was already in the... more

Very last minute plans for an escape lead us to Stonehouse Court last Friday night. Room was smallish, nice, clean with very comfortable double bed. We ate in the resturant and enjoyed an excellent meal. The plates are big and at first the portions look small but they are of a very high quality and suprisingly filling. The vanilla cream... more

The hotel is beautifully situatied, close to the Stroud Canal. The garden is beautiflly kept and full of colour. The food was excellent and the service was very good indeed. We had 3 rooms - 2 doubles and a single. These wereaverage, but the bath in the single room must be one of the smallest in the world. more
