My idea of what a hotel should be! Full of character but unpretentious. Pleasantly old-fashioned and relaxing. The room was large and comfortable. The food was good and the staff very obliging. A great escape from the usual daily hassle. One piffling complaint - the breakfast marmalade was far too sweet.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel on a special deal and met up with friends. Our bedroom at the back of the hotel was very comfortable with a large bed, sofa, chair, desk, wardrobe, table and en-suite bathroom with a large corner bath. We were very pleased with this room and our stay as the staff made us... More

The pool is closed until end of February 2015. And although this was disappointing so many other things were very good indeed, the menu in the restaurant was fresh and seasonal, with nice touches like warm homemade bread rolls,we were full after the main course but were tempted by the cheese trolly with a dozen regional cheeses, the waiter offered... Relaxed dining and wines in a luxurious atmosphere. Bar meals, lunch or evening dining, even wine tasting evenings fun. Summer evenings outside at the front after my cricket with a pint and friends, with views and atmosphere.

Having read all the reviews of this hotel, we expected something amazing. Sadly did not deliver. To start with one reason for choosing this hotel was the indoor pool. On arrival we were told this was closed, and no one had informed us of this prior to arriving. Rooms, although very large and comfy beds very tired and dated. Nice... More

Been there, every year, sometimes twice a year since since 1994. Definitely the best country house hotel in England or Wales and have visited many. Can't make our minds up what is best. Setting divine. Rooms outstanding. Restaurant and food superb. Ambiance brilliant. Hostess / Proprietor Baba Hine runs a personal hands on highest quality operation. Going back soon to... More

We have just had and overnight stay at the Corse Lawn country house, it was perfect, cosy, comfortable, fantastic food and wonderful staff, we did not want to leave. The location was excellent. The breakfast was perfectly served and second to none.

I love Corse Lawn. This was our first stay but it won't be our last. Amazing location, lovely building, friendly attentive competent staff, great room, comfy bed. Somehow the place manages to be big and cosy at the same time. The food was fantastic - we had dinner and breakfast on two consecutive days. Even the veg was great, none... More

My husband and I had a two night break with dinner last week. The room was spacious, with fresh fruit, hand made biscuits, leaf tea and ground coffee with fresh milk all laid out. The food was superb, with canapés before the meal and petit fours with coffee. The wine list is extensive with reasonably priced house wines. Service throughout... More

Stayed two nights for a Reunion of 23 people. Owners went out of their way to accommodate such a large party by arranging for Dinner on both nights to be taken in a separate dining room.Comfortable rooms of a generous size, homely ambience, good food and very friendly staff.
