The hotel is situated in the very attractive and peaceful village of Clearwell in the Royal Forest of Dean. The large village church is well worth a visit. Good location for visiting Chepstow, Monmouth, Lydney and the Wye valley. The hotel consists of a series of buildings clustered around the main house. All of the buildings have been sympathetically restored... More

This hotel is in the picturesque village Clearwell. We were a party of 9 booked for afternoon tea. Bone china tea cups and lovely cake stands - filled with delicious scones, home made cakes and dainty sandwiches made our afternoon tea so enjoyable. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were attentive and very helpful. We retired to the gardens... More

We booked an overnight stay with Secret Escapes. It included a 3 course dinner and breakfast and we could not fault this hotel in any way. We had a beautiful Cider Room with the most amazing shower. The menu for dinner was a little fancy for our taste but the food was nonetheless very tasty if a little on the... More

Despite this hotel being in a quiet peaceful village a good night's sleep could not be guaranteed for a light sleeper. Think cars on a gravel drive passing close to your bedroom window, barn floorboards being walked up and down on above you and being able to hear quite clearly your neighbour enjoying some intimacy and then snoring all night.... We stopped at the Tudor Farmhouse Hotel in Clearwell on our way up to the Brecons for a week's break after our wedding - and again on our way back. The staff were so friendly and helpful and treated us very kindly on our honeymoon. Both rooms we stayed in were fantastic - comfortable, clean and with amazing bathrooms! The... More

Enjoyed a lovely nights stay at this hotel which ticked all the boxes for a comfortable night away from home. I stayed in a room away from the main building on an upper floor and was welcomed by the vision of a big bed that was incredibly comfy. Lovely bedding, towels, robe, toiletries etc and the prerequisites if sockets near... More

My wife and I stayed for one night on a Groupon deal which was £69 for a double room with breakfast. Our room was in the main building facing the road. This part of the hotel oozes charm, ascending the twisting steps to our room. Exposed oak beams and a quirky floor level add to the character. The old building... More

With the prospect of a long meeting in Birmingham we decided to have a two day stop-over in the Forest of Dean on the way home. We were not disapointed, an excellent hotel within easy reach of the fast roads but far enough away to relax in tranquility. We stayed in the Byre, nice room, lots of space and warm,... More

We spent one night away at the Tudor Farmhouse in the beautiful Forest of Dean. It was a wonderful experience! The night away was a Christmas gift from our son and daughter and included a 6 course taster menu dinner and breakfast the following morning. We had the Cider Barn room, which was situated on the first floor up a... More

We have just returned from an overnight stay at the Tudor Farmhouse. Totally agree with all the other reviews, we found the staff all very friendly and the hotel is spotless. We stayed in a Junior Barn room, number 17 & it had everything we needed. Lovely touches such as the Coffee machine and little biscuits. Toiletries from The White... More
