We booked last minute through Laterooms.com. We were supposed to be staying in the new annex, but were informed on arrival that we'd been 'upgraded' to a four poster room in the main building. The main building is in dire need of some TLC. It really could be so nice, but is pretty shabby at present. Our room had no... More

I stayed here for three nights back in April with my dog, Winston. This time we stayed for two and brought my wife as well. What a comfortable place this is! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it to anyone. The new chef is excellent, the menu is imaginative and the food tasty. The bedroom was comfy and, as... More

We were staying at a B&B in the village and came here for a pub meal. The food was pretty average pub fare but could have been a lot tastier. We were disappointed more by the service however. There appeared to only be a haphazard bar manager and another manager behind the bar!! And only one waitress. And they all... More

I booked this trip as a getaway, and then looked at the Trip Advisor reviews.....! Given the range of ratings, we were expecting a polarising experience and I can see how others would love or loath this place in equal numbers. We arrived a bit later than planned - and phoned in advance to warn them given the experiences others... More

Weekend family break with the dog. Met at reception by the owner who was friendly and professional. Shown to our room, advised to book early for dinner as possibly busy. Room very spacious and clean, nice furnishing but requires freshening up as does the rest of the place. Sat outside and had a drink, the furniture although quite new was... More

I'm giving the Wyndham Arms two stars: one for the location in Clearwell which is lovely and undeniably handy for weddings at Clearwell Castle only a few mins walk away, and one for the cooked breakfast which is tasty (although there's no menu, it's just assumed you want a full English. Staff seemed taken aback by diners asking for anything... More

Booked in for dinner to be told on our arrival they had no chef for our lunch or evening meal. Our room on the ground floor in the annex was average but lacked a view as the window was covered in bushes. The bar in the main building was dark and shabby and nothing exceptional, we were not impressed overall... More

We are a family of one adult, two teenage children and a large, energetic flat-coated retriever. We picked this hotel due to it being dog-friendly and being able to sit at the bar with dogs. The food is absolutely delicious. In the morning an array of cereals and hot drinks pleasantly go alongside probably the best full English I have... More

I love this place, spend many hours down here, the staff are great and friendly, would recommend a try down here! The food is remarkable and the chef is worth his weight in gold, along with thom and em. The owner must look beyond the 19th century! Hello!! It's the new millennium !!
