We returned on Monday after spending three nights at this Hotel. We had a sea view room, which was clean and comfortable. The bed was rather low but comfortable, there were two armchairs and coffee tables by the window. Our daughter and husband and his parents also had sea view but not the comfortable chairs we had. Our room was... More

Stayed in the hotel for a night to visit family in Southend. Right next to the beach and is a stones throw from some great restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is a lovely family run establishment and the receptionist and bar manager were happy to chat and give tips on places to visit. Really happy with the room and... More

Arriving at the hotel was very easier but the parking was much to be desired. Along the left hand side of the building down a small road lays the general car park. Now to be fair, it's free and it's behind the hotel but it's also behind all off the other properties on the sea from and the garages which... More

I have been on a road trip holiday with my two daughters aged 17 and 14. We have stayed in several B&B s but this one takes the crown. Its spacious, clean and comy. WIFI was available at no charge. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant has good quality food and there is something for everyone's tastes. Breakfast was lovely... More

I've never been a fan of the cookie box hotel and always try to find a nice boutique to visit when I'm traveling. A colleage lives in Thorpe Bay and recommended this as a nice base while there. A lovely sea view and within walking distance of the wharf. Not much to complain about there. Would certainly stay here again.

Just spent a week in what we consider to be the best hotel in Southend on Sea. Special thanks go to Jamie, Abbie, Laura, Doreen and the staff who made our stay spectacular. The accommodation is first class. Spotlessly clean and tidy, very well serviced room (number 23), the most wonderful breakfast you could imagine and the restaurant is beyond... More

Stayed at the Camelia this weekend and was not disappointed! At reception was greeted by a lovely lady with blond hair who was very friendly and helpful. The room was of a perfect size and had an amazing view of the beach! I was also pleasantly surprised with the free wifi on offer as so many hotels these days charge... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. We had a wonderful meal which was beautifully cooked and the staff were so polite and helpful. The room was clean and very tidy and we had a brilliant nights rest (something we don't often get with 2 children) We would like to thank the staff for making... More
