My partner and I took our mothers to The Starr for Mother's Day. It was busy and for that reason the service was not quite up to its normal standard. We had to get up a couple of times to pour the wine. However, the rest of the service was good, as was the food as usual. A good ambience... More

I do not usually leave feedback, however we booked a room at the Starr and it was an excellent place to stay. Room was clean, contemporary and had everything you would need. Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was one of the best we have had along with great service.

Visited here over Chritsmas period. Booked the nicest large double bedroom. Room was clean and presentable, very comfortable. Enjoyed a nice relaxed meal in the restaurant on site. Parking available too. Staff friendly. Would recommend

We stayed here for 1 night after our friends wedding. Staff friendly, room nice size and beds comfy. Shower was small for the size of the bathroom. Very clean. Was slightly disappointed as was expecting a high standard for how much we paid for 1 night. Breakfast was nice could have done with bigger portions tho! And thanks to the... More

Very much enjoyed my short stay here. In particular the staff deserve praise for their friendly, helpful yet professional approach. Small things like attending to tea making facilities and wifi were done with the minimum of fuss and bother. The room rate was very reasonable and the three meals I had in the restaurant were consistently good. I was entertaining... More

This place I believe has just been extensively refurbished. The rooms are excellent, superbly clean and very boutique style. The staff are lovely and although we arrived to late for the evening meal, breakfast was very good in a beautifully appointed restaurant. We had no hot water, I believe the boiler was faulty, and we were immediately offered another room... More

Having stayed and dined at the Starr on several occaisions earlier - and enjoyed it very much - I was pleased to see the recent changes. The restaurant and hotel had been done up. The rooms may be a bit on the modern side for me, but they are fresh, clean and bright. The restaurant has excellent food with attentive... More

Great restaurant excellent choice of food all locally sourced, fillet steak was massive and perfectly cooked. My only niggle is the atmosphere it just lacks something, it could be helped by removing the net curtains so you can look in and see, I would not have gone in had it not been a business meeting, but glad I did. Staff... More

8 of us ate here on Saturday evening (09/03) as part of 40th birthday celebrations for 3 of the group and had an excellent evening. From the minute we arrived we received friendly and professional service initially from the Maitre d' and then also from all the young staff at the table. The wine list is varied with some imaginative... More
