I stayed here after a works party at North Weald Airfield, and booked as it was close, when we arrived after booking through booking.com, we were told there was no booking, then they changed their minds, was given our room, ground floor over in what appeared to be old barracks or an old school corridor. there was approx 10 of... The hotel has certainly seen better days and the exterior is shabby and the room smelt of decay. Service was average as was the food. It would need substantial refurbishment to come up to the standard of say, a Premier Inn. Restaurant staff were friendly. This hotel caters for coach tours and when they tourists are in, there is very... More

I have never stayed in a more run down hotel than this. Had an executive room, the most expensive they had as the reviews were bad. Room was clean although not so long ago refurbished. Few stains on furniture but was acceptable. Rest of the hotel looked like a ghetto from Schindlers list film set. Breakfast poor & hotel full... More

Stayed here as part of a weekend away for a friends party and I wouldnt recommend it.The room itself was OK, except for some oversized furniture! However the corridors and rest of the building are a tired 60s building which meant the ventilation is terrible- the room was boiling for most of the night and they dont have a/c anywhere.... More

Knew off this Hotel, so booked it whilst attending a Wedding. The staff were helpful and friendly. But overall we were very disappointed with our room. Road noise through to 4.00 am next day. Paid for breakfast, but because they had a large party of Chinese staying the same night, we were told we'd have to wait half an hour... More

Room was ok, bed comfortable and good wi-fi connection. Plenty of parking and good location, 10 minutes walk from Epping town centre. Sadly a lot of the hotel is run down and in need of an urgent refurbishment. A lot of the staff are from eastern europe and sadly their command of the English language is poor to basic at... More

After reading some of the reviews was seriously concerned on what to expect but I needn't of worried.Sure its not perfect and is a little tierd at the edges but for the money and the location on the end of the central line it is good value for money. The rooms are clean it has a reasonable size bar area and... A realy shabby run down hotel with lots of odvious maintenance issues in public areas, from the wholes in the restraunt walls were pictures have been removed to dirty stained carpets and damaged paint work, but it's the smell in the bed room that was truly awful, damp stale smell in all the wood, bed head and bathroom. Truly awful.
