The hotel is in a prime position but the interior is in desperate need of new doors a coat of paint and the carpets want a good clean. Our room clearly hadn't been vacuumed and not cleaned very well at all. It was also cold in the room, the heating was on but you couldn't adjust the radiator as a... More

Somebody once said that all disappointment is due to unrealistic expectation. So when you book a £50 a night B&B in Clacton-on-Sea, having had plenty of opportunity to see exactly what it is like in advance via the many pictures on booking.com and the rest, I think you should know exactly what to expect. The building and the decor are... More

Ideal b&b for a quick get away! If your down to earth and friendly you'll enjoy your stay. If your stuck up and expect too much you'll agree with the bad reviews! Breakfast: lush! Accommodation: basic but clean Staff: lovely Would stay again!

Stayed in room 10 in august 2013 thankfully booked for just one night. the room was very unclean, and comparing it the plush bar fitted downstairs. the rooms upstairs were more than disappointing! Had the worst night sleep ever on a old, cheap and very lumpy mattress. never used the shower as it needed a good clean. After receiving my breakfast the following... More

Without doubt the worst hotel we have stayed in. This hotel needs a complete makeover. Dusty old mismatched carpets upstairs. The room was small, the en suite was probably a converted cupboard. You could not use the hand basin with the door closed as there was no space to move. The toilet roll holder was broken. The Perspex light panel... More

Just been reading some of the bad comments, well just returned from staying bank holiday, yes the bathrom is tiny but it meets the needs. The bed was comfortable rooms could do with a refurb but ok. The staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast brilliant and the bar drinks very reasonable. This is not a 3 or 4 star... More

First the negatives, the room was very small, the bathroom tiny, had to leave door open whilst using hand basin. The wardrobe rickety and the drawers hadn't been cleaned. Hotel is next to bar and nightclub. Hot night so left window open slightly - on the Friday night the noise continuous, mainly unruly leaving the club in batches from midnight... More

I booked this hotel thinking its location next to the seafront would be great. When I arrived I was given my key and a quick run down of when breakfast is and when to check out etc. After a 4 hour drive I couldn't take the info in - so had to re-check later and write it down! The bedding... More

We travelled from California for a special meeting with long-time friends and stayed at this hotel. We were shocked at how badly the place is run down, the rooms were tiny, and the "bathrooms" were ridiculously small and dirty around the shower frames and the floors. No washcloths or tissues were provided, which we expect. The wind blew through the... More
