What a surprise! This hotel is great . We got a great deal for a two night stay including breakfast. Booked on the best western website...it was more expensive when we phoned the hotel direct! Despite external appearances (80's build, Wimpey Home style) this is a lovely hotel. The Atlantic does not purport to be a luxury hotel. It is a hotel for business and short-stay visits which does what it sets out to do very well indeed. I have stayed at this hotel several times, and my opinion is getting better as time progresses. The hotel is almost walking distance from the Chelmsford rail station, but it is probably better to take a cab. I recently stayed here on business. The hotel is modern and conveniently located for the town centre. Parking was handy and the reception area is well laid out.
