For a night out in Chelmsford, you could not get a better located hotel. The bar is also rated very highly on TripAdvisor and I can see why. We had a lovely, relaxing drink in the bar before going to get ready to go out. The hotel rooms are very large and spacious, and also full of character. Original 17th... More

My husband and I had a lovely stay here and will definitely be going back, the staff were very helpful, lovely room, huge bed, can't complain about anything, fantastic breakfast in the morning, some fruit would have been nice but other than that, brilliant!

I stayed at this hotel on my own for two nights as i was visiting friends. The building is lovely, lots of character in the bar. Needs painting outside though as that really would make a big impact. The first night I was back at the hotel by 11;15pm, the bar staff were there, I asked if i could get... More

Stayed in loft room number 5, at the very top of the inn. Olde worlde beams. No windows that open but air conditioning unit. Only gripe was there was no instructions for it. Breakfast next morning was hot and very nice. Also have small selection of cereal and juice. Was a very quiet room considering they were fully booked and... More

We stayed here Saturday for 1 night to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The room was number 2 which overlooked the back of the building and courtyard. Really nice room with very old beams throughout and a lovely en suite tucked away. The room has a t.v, dressing table, tea and coffee making facilities too. All very old world charm so... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed a night in the Riverside Inn and we must say it was a very nice experience indeed. Firstly we were greeted by friendly staff and after checking in we were shown to our room and shown where everything was, the room itself (Number 3) was finished to a very high standard and the view was... This is my third time staying here and everything was great as usual. Staff are very friendly and helpful, room is nice and clean with a great view of the garden. High Street and a row of nice restaurants (can't remember the names) just a stone's throw away, about 5 minutes. Train station to London is about 10 minutes walk.... More

We stayed here for one night. On checking in we found the staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and comfortable. We turned up for breakfast just 10 minutes before the finish time and we were served a freshly cooked breakfast which was very nice. Overall this hotel is very good value for money and a good... The Riverside Inn is a charming old coaching inn that was formerly a mill - as can be seen by some of the machinery in the bar area. As a place to stay it's absolutely fine rather than luxurious. Our room was decent, the bathroom was a bit dated and breakfast was ok - but at over £100 per night... More

Stayed here for one night whilst on business. Generous sized bedroom with ensuite. Lots of hot water in the morning. Good breakfast and could choose whatever I wanted. I was a little cold at night, but it was a very cold night and I stayed in room 5, right in the roof of the building. Good atmosphere in the pub... More
