Stayed here for 1 night with 2 friends for a night out in essex. The room was unbearably warm, the window didn't let in any air at all- very uncomfortable to try and get ready in/sleep in. Room was clean and fine other than that. Had police outside our room in the early hours chucking someone out and threatening them... More

Dreadful stay in a room that was too hot to the point that it made you feel ill. Had to spend the night on chair in reception because it was the only place that was cool enough. Staff failed to take complaint seriously and wouldn't even give a couple of complimentary bottles of water to rehydrate you. Some rooms on... More

Stayed here one night a few days ago, the girls on the reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Slept very well. Nice reception & bar area too. Unfortunately was woken at 9am by extremely loud building works and builders on the scaffolding outside my room window but It can't be helped. However... More

We stayed here for two nights for V-Festival. The weather (unfortunately) was not hot, but these rooms were sauner-like. Trying to sleep was near enough impossible, even on a night that was bordering on "chilly". I think that the hotel is fairly new, in which case you need to be having a word with your architect, The design is wrong... More

This must have been the hottest hotel bedroom I have ever stayed in. No air conditioning about 100 degrees. Never slept for the 4 nights we were there. Absolutely exhausted. The room was clean but there were no shower caps and no fan in the bathroom. Wouldn't stay there again.

We have just stayed here for four nights however, we did not sleep a wink. Upon checking in and noticing that the building was like a sauna we told that the air conditioning was not currently working. As a result we assumed that it must be broken. However, in actual fact there is no air conditioning! When you walk into... More

The temperature of the room was extremely hot. We were told this by the check in staff and that there would be a fan in the room because of this. Upon entering the room, it was unbearably hot, and there was no fan. When I returned to ask about the fan, the same staff member then told me that all... More

Overall the Staff were great in all areas, the rooms were well maintained, clean and comfortable, the only problem was the temperature of the room and think all rooms need air con or fans fitted as the room was very very hot during the night, we did tell the staff this and were told that this was in hand so... Never stayed in a Travel Lodge before and hope to never stay in one again especially if like this one! No one on reception when we arrived and we eventually spotted a tiny note on a phone that indicated we should press button for someone to come. We were warned that the rooms were warm but when we got to... More
