Went to Marygreen manor today for afternoon tea , the sandwiches were very nice and the tea and coffee kept flowing and you can always order more . The venue with it's garden and overall ambience adds to the plesentness of the occasion. The staff are polite and courteous always on hand to assist. Overall a very nice time was... More

Stayed here for one night back in March. We arrived later than expected and the reception was still open and we were quickly checked in and shown to our room. The hotel is very old and so the building has lots of little corridors and staircases hidden away. It could be quite easy to get lost on your first night!... More

I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my partner and his Nan to celebrate her 80th birthday and have champagne afternoon tea. We were sat in a conservatory which had the sun beaming in whilst we were eating and ended up us having to cut our time there short because we all felt like we were melting away! HOWEVER,... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit for afternoon tea. Our standard Afternoon Tea is £16.50 per person. Afternoon Tea with Champagne is £22.50 per person. You were correctly charged £67.50 for your 3 Afternoon Teas with Champagne; I hope this clears up any confusion with your... More

There are several positives to the Marygreen. I loved the old building and the tranquil courtyard garden, which my room overlooked. My room was spacious and clean (although I didn't look under the bed :)). The hotel is 5 minutes away from the M25 motorway but I was unaware of traffic noise. The centre of Brentwood is a 5-minute cab... More

We stayed here overnight following a wedding. Firstly, 'we' is me, hubby and son of 5- our room's child's bed was not ready and inspire of asking on 3 separate occasions didn't get done until 9pm. This wasn't a problem as the kids were still playing but under normal circumstances it'd HAVE to have been done at least 2 hours... More

We held our wedding reception at this hotel 21 years ago. We returned recently for an overnight stay with friends. It really was like stepping into a time warp! The staff were nice and friendly but the hotel desperately needs some money spending on it. So dated! Even the beautiful garden looks tired and unkempt. Such a shame as it... More

We visited on a weekday morning when the lounge was full of businessmen tackling spreadsheets on their laptops. No matter. Very attentive staff. Perfect tea and coffee. Great shame that the lounge was dark with tired decor such as armchairs worn down to the wood on the arms. Tudor restaurant looked authentic. Pity that the staff were eating at the... More

Had Afternoon Tea with friends. It was lovely to see so many groups having celebrations there. Lovely food. PLAIN scones, a rarity and for someone who does not like dried fruit a welcome change. Had a problem with pouring the coffee, handle too small for cafetière. Staff very helpful, especially when we need assistance with the high steps. Would go... More

Booked afternoon tea here as a treat for my Grandma's 90th birthday. Absolutely delighted. Beautiful venue, lovely freshly made sandwiches, cakes and scones, and great value. Highly recommended. Would definitely come here again.
