Headline says it all, really. Lovely location near Bewl water. Incredibly warm and accommodating staff. Harveys bitter on tap (superb). Free pork scratchings. Killer steak and kidney pie. And amusingly a 'dog menu' which are little mutt devoured.... Will be back.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Bull for the weekend as a friends wedding was nearby. We didn't eat lunch/dinner in the pub but the breakfast was great! Huge English brekkie with good coffee and juice in front of a roaring fire. Friendly staff too :) The accommodation however was really disappointing. After paying £70 for a double... More

WOW!!..Fabulous evening. We took my very elderly parents. I knew my mother would love the ambience of the ancient pub with blazing fires, the fact they served scrumptious food was just the added bonus. We all loved what we chose and it was served in such a friendly attentive manner by the young waitresses it just added to the enjoyment.... More

Beautiful area, warm, sincere but humorous hospitality, fresh delicious food in a classic English pub atmosphere that completely avoids being dreary like some pubs. The huge warm fireplace is a wonderful touch and management's generosity with even patrons' pets is heartwarming. Go hungry and come away satisfied, refreshed and with a smile on your face! Also, the cafe americano was... More

This 500 year old pub is a summertime favorite of mine because its set right near Bewl Water and the front garden is a magical place on a Sunday afternoon in July because of the wonderful atmosphere, duck pond, dogs, and generally very happy, relaxed people. So popping in on Sunday was a bit of a different experience as it... More

We had lunch at The Bull on a Saturday and it was gorgeous! I had the Brie Ploughmans and my husband the Scampi. Both were delicious and plentiful. Delightful interior - cosy and dark with log fire and shelves and shelves of old books! Happily go back, highly recommend a visit.

Visited the bull Inn for lunch in November last year and felt compelled to comment after reading the recent review about the rudeness of the owner. Our experience was completely opposite and could not have asked for a friendlier host if we had tried. The lunch , a ploughmans, was fabulous and different from the usual bland option at other... We arrived at the Bull after a long day and sat down to a lovely meal. The open fires were a warm welcome and the service was outstanding, all the staff were friendly and when the meal came it was brilliant the food tasted great and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be returning to the Bull Inn.

We booked a table of 4 for lunch today and I have to say I'm very glad we did. From the moment we entered The Bull Inn we were warmly greeted by several members of staff which was a nice start to the experience. Our table was available immediately but we decided to have a drink by one of the... More
