I stayed at this pub for two nights and having tried a number of others in the area found this to be the best of the bunch. The food was excellent being homemade pub grub and the portions are large enough to keep hunger at bay for some time. The accommodation is comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities in the room.... More

Our party of three adults and a small child had a table booked. When we arrived we were moved to a better one. Drinks were served straight away, and food orders did not take long to arrive. Enormous portions of good English cooking: recommend the steak and kidney pudding, roast chicken was good too. Bread and butter pudding, chocolate ganache,... More

For a local that enjoys pub food I was so disappointed,we visited pervious for lunch and had the steak and kidney pudding which was lovely but if I'm honest this pub is way to over priced for its food. We had a kids burger which was dry and burnt to a crisp, fish and chips, the fish was soggy and tasted of... More

I've visited this pub to eat on two occasions and have throughly enjoyed myself and the food! The house burger is yum! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the decor makes me feel as though im in a Harry Potter film! We resevered our table and the name was written on a slate which was perched on the table... This is a lovely country pub with a great atmosphere. Old wood beams, low ceilings, nooks and crannies etc. There was a wonderful log fire burning when we visited. The restaurant was packed on a November Saturday lunch time (when Christmas shopping would have been the norm.) Testament to the draw of the place The food was amazing. Although it... More

We came here for lunch the other day, did not stay here Very friendly, made us feel comfortable despite being the only "tourists" in the bar. Food was lovely, best ploughman's I have had in a long time, huge chunk of fresh bread, plenty of cheese and sides. The burger is also highly recommended When in the area again, will... More

Had a meal here and the location is beautiful and pub full of character and charm. Ducks on the pond outside! We ate in the front garden. My daughter enjoyed an excellent burger, while I had a chicken wrap. To be honest I found the chicken in the wrap somewhat dry. Also someone was smoking inside the pub a couple... More

We've just had a delicious, well priced lunch in this charming pub. The service was friendly, fast and efficient. I'm a vegetarian with coeliac disease so not the easiest customer and they were very helpful and I felt confident I wouldn't have any problems. Beautiful surroundings and only wish I'd known about it sooner. Will definitely be returning. Thanks

Truly hearty breakfasts are the order of the day if you stay at this charming Inn in Ticehurst! We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The room offered everything needed including a good selection of different teas and it was clean and very comfortable. It was good to have a separate entrance to the accommodation which... More
