Two very dear friends of mine recently got married here. It was going to be a special day regardless but the venue and the staff made it absolutely wonderful. The venue is tucked away in this lovely picturesque village just an hour from Central London via train. The exterior of the pub looks like a little cottage and it retains... More

We stayed in the lodges at the back of the pub, the bar itself is a great bar with excellent staff. The assistant manager was paticularly helpful. We had a log burner in our room which was romantic and atmospheric. The detail everywhere was awesome, I liked the lead welded hearts on the stairs up to the love nest terrace.... More

As I lay in bed in pretty vacate room ! I can say I've had a great day, we turned up to one of there most busy days (Christmas fair). We still have had a unique experience... The bell has so many eye catching features. Also the service in the restaurant (by a chap called lee) was very efficient and... More

We had booked a night in one of their chalets behind the 12th C. Pub. We were greeted with such warmth and wonderful energy. The eclectic decor of the pub and then the chalet was a delight. We had the room called 'Between the Lines'. The bed was heavenly. The bathroom's ceiling had been painted black and it gave the... More

Again, the Good Pub Guide did not steer us wrong. Lovely old pub, excellent food, great beer on handpump, welcoming staff. The ploughman's was top-notch (usually is, most places)! Be sure to check out the photo I add, of the men's room ...

We stayed at the Bell Inn for one night in the room called Smiles of Memories. We were delighted with the room - very quiet and facing out to a view of the lodges. The room was very clean and filled with lots of quirky little details. The bath is amazing, powerful shower too. We had dinner in the pub... More

Just back from a wedding celebration at The Bell ,Ticehurst. And weren't we well looked after. There's something to delight the eye, stimulate the mind and make me smile, around every corner. It was something akin to theatre, beautifully orchestrated, with Johnny, the maitre d', guiding his excellent staff in making the occasion relaxed and fun. The little maxims beautifully... More

I have visited The Bell on many occasions, it's a pub full of life and interest. This time I stayed in one of the new lodges, each lodge has its own theme and is designed with such imagination and attention to detail. We stayed in The Love Nest, a cocoon of loveliness, everything about it was perfect, the copper roll... More

I certainly would not return to this 'hotel'. For the price I expected a little bit of luxury. With no shower in all the rooms, it is too hot, too noisy, and a lot of money for a nicely decorated room in a pub. Unless you can sleep through anything, or are too drunk to care...then this is not the... More

Hi I'm sorry The Bell did not live up to your expectations but glad you enjoyed the breakfast. We are a pub with rooms so there will always be some element of noise during opening hours for accommodation in the main building. Best wishes More

I stayed for one night. There was no key for my door. No TV remote. Breakfast started at 7.30 but I had to leave by 7.30 and I awoke to find no coffee. The windows don't close properly and it was nice for a delivery van to roll up at <6am, leave the engine running and it seemed like the... More
