I booked this hotel as I was working in the area, it was reasonably priced. The parking is along the side and through to the back, it looked like there would be plenty of room even when busy. Upon arriving inside I was given my room. The room was serviceable with everything needed albeit relatively basic. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. I ate at one of the pubs nearby as the menu for dinner was not really to my taste however based on the breakfast i'm sure it would have been very well prepared

Our stay was very comfortable the rooms having been recently redecorated. The service in the bar and restaurant was swift, efficient and delivered with a smile, the log fire was very welcome. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were well presented and delicious, served in a well run restaurant. All of the staff make you very welcome from the moment you arrive, even preparing my Father's birthday cake and singing happy birthday to him in the lounge.

Christmas Lunch very poor and basic for £110 per head extremely disappointing it’s really gone downhill. No music either so very dull atmosphere. Staff very good indeed not their fault at all but owner needs to get food quality back to previous standard

We had a very enjoyable couple of nights at the Brickwall Hotel and will gladly stay there again. First class service and excellent food. A very friendly vibe all round and one of the best hotel breakfasts we have enjoyed in a long time.

Another fabulous weekend here. Julio and his team made us all feel so welcome. Amazing food, although maybe we did eat a little too much! ☺️ Can’t wait for our next mini break here. Would highly recommend for a get together with family or friends.

As others have said, the decor is a bit dated, but everything else was great. Every single member of staff we interacted with was excellent, the rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was good. Location was good to visit Battle, Hastings and Rye. Village was nice, with several easy dog walks. We’d stay again.

Lovely setting with the large bedroom full or character. Don’t go if you expect a room like a purpose built hotel chain - it “ain’t”. Large portion dinner , with sorbets in between, along with more than ample breakfasts. Owner present (or son) on most shifts, all smart and very polite - thank you for making our stay excellent!
